God,seems like yesterday. I happened to be logged onto FR when his post went up. I understood very little of it but never imagined it would have the impact it did have.

It wasn't necessarily FR, it was one intelligent, observant participant. Credit should go to the one exceptional American.
That a forum was developed to facilitate this communication should also be credited, but in a supplementary role.

Ah, so maybe Scott Johnson is also a SEAL...?
And he, too, ran from scary SNIPER FIRE when he flew into Yugoslavia?
And maybe Guam will capsize?
He sounds like DeepInTheHurtgerenForest, I’d say.
What a freaking LIAR.

I believe that Powerline and Hindraker, who did a lot of good work in those days, picked it up. But, of course, it was Buckhead who first figured it out, and FreeRepublic deserves the credit.
I wouldn’t knock Powerline just because this guy has gotten it wrong.
