The minds behind the CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls thought it might be clever to catch viewers up on what they missed during the summer hiatus. They also figured they could hammer home a pair of false liberal memes at the same time.
The show's season premiere Monday night featured Max the waitress (Kat Dennings) attending to a young male diner.
"I've been out of town all summer. Anything new?" the customer asked her.
Max proceeded to rattle off a series of pop culture anecdotes, name checking Chris Brown, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber and Oprah Winfrey before turning political.
"The NSA checks our phones like a crazy ex-girlfriend ..." she said, and then added, "Oh, and Texas hates women and Florida hates blacks."(continued)

Never heard of it.
I figured Coulson on the show would be an LMD, and tonight’s episode did nothing to change that speculation.
For the most part tonight’s episode of Agents of SHIELD was pretty good, but the black “hero” was a sad stereotype of an African American stepped on by “the man”. I was hoping this show could avoid preachy liberalism, but, alas, ‘twasn’t so.
Most of network TV is garbage, but I like The Neighbors. I think it and Duck Dynasty are two of the best family shows on the tube.
I don’t get it either. She’s incredibly smart and successful professionally, and has been voting straight ticket Republican since long before she could vote, and then she watches complete junk/crap TV like this.
Burn Notice didn’t suck despite Fiona (or rather the actress who played her) being an uber lib.
Otherwise agree 100%.
She’d entice you to compromise your core values?
That tells me you really don’t have core values or character.
I hope you don’t have access to any classified materials.
Oh yeah, and no matter how hot you THINK she is (she looks a bit like “Ponch” from “CHIPS” to me) someone else is sick of her crap.
I read every Travis McGee novel ever written.
I suffered with Mayer and even his silly affection for Keynesian economics (JDM never did get into it, thank God).
The Green Ripper was a great novel but so damn depressing I almost gave up on the series.
Good to see McGee carried in modern entertainment.
>>But attractive women on tv are still a dime a dozen, what makes her so special among them, when again she is still the type of female character conservatives tend to laothe with a passion?<<
I disagree.
* She has a consistent value system that she hews to, even when it would be easier to give those values up. Liberals don’t have values, they have agendas.
* She is fiercely loyal to her friends and adopted family (in fact, when confronted she supports those she loves over those she was blooded to).
* She loves the USA unconditionally: when she became a citizen she treasured it and has come all the way to death’s door to defend us.
* I have never heard her state any liberal positions (other than being a very female female in a man’s world) — she tends to be apolitical in what we call politics.
Maybe I missed when she started becoming a “type of female character conservatives tend to laothe with a passion” (sic)
When was that and what are those characteristics?
I tried at the series premier and it seemed idiotic.
I prefer Duck Dynasty.
Simple solution: all the Blacks in Florida go to Texas and to all the Texan women, in the immortal words of Jim Dooley, “come on down!”
Full House is on ‘everywhere you look.’ (see what I did there? ;o)
A woman who acts like a man and who fights with men on a regular basis and who is overly aggressive and with a highly lax attitude on all things sexual. Some freepers would probably be happy to talk your ear off about how they wish all these kinds of female characters would vanish and be replaced by women you would see in John Wayne or Chuck Norris type movies, and have all female action stars replaced by John Wayne type men.
>>Shed entice you to compromise your core values?<<
Assumes facts not in evidence. You don’t get to make stuff up or build straw men.
>>That tells me you really dont have core values or character.<<
Says the person making things up. Take the plank from your eye and then tell me how the Ziva character is significantly counter to conservative values.
Oh, and Real Conservatives have sense of humor. I suggest you see if you qualify — you are 0/2 so far.
I tried to watch a sitcom on FOX a few months ago, it was either New Girl or Mindy Project or something... the main character wanted to know what it was like to have sex with someone else and her boyfriend was all for it.
When I saw a commercial for New Girl with Zooey Dreschtomato (I think that’s her name) talking about how she would see a cute kid find him so adorable that she wanted to pick him up, put him in her car and drive away but the police explained that’s kidnapping, I thought she was quirky and funny. I tried the show but it sucked after less than two minutes.
Yeah the Wire was a very well made and engrossing show, but you do have to just grin and bear it through the segments of liberal propaganda. At least it was still very watchable.
Now, you’ve got stuff like “Newsroom”, which is kind of like “The Wire” with no good characters, no action, no suspense, and mostly actors whose best years are behind them. There’s no point to trying to sit through the propaganda to get to the good parts, because there are no good parts!
she looks like a dude...at least facial features.
Wide is the path to destruction. Many associates will accompany.
Like lambs to the slaughter.
My wife watched this show a few times - it sucks big time. Constant sexual jokes and innuendo, constant positive drug references - nothing that should be in prime time on broadcast TV.
>>A woman who acts like a man and who fights with men on a regular basis and who is overly aggressive and with a highly lax attitude on all things sexual.<<
Her attitude about sex is pretty conservative — she has had only a few boyfriends and keeps her sex life circumspect (more so than most conservatives).
And we teach our women (since you seem to be from a few generations ago) to be able to take care of themselves and not depend on their menfolk.
IOW, the only reason you dislike the Ziva character is she could kick your ass.
Your attack on the character are baseless — she is more conservative than almost any other “hey let’s put a hot/cute chick in a position of power” on TV.
(of course, this is from someone who watched 2 hrs of The Waltons today....and wishing she could watch 2 hrs of them tomorrow...and the day after)
