This is a subject that luminaries like Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams have written about at length, and I highly recommend their essays on the subject.

But in a nutshell, the political left subverted the 'civil rights movement' back in the 1960s, and since then blacks have been merely cannon fodder for the collectivist movement -- taught from birth that being law-abiding and productive is just 'sucking up to whitey', that all their problems are somehow 'whitey's fault', and that a violent, stupid thug culture is 'keeping it real'. They have been a stagnant subculture for the last forty years, and getting progressively worse. Now we are plagued with legions of 'superpredators' bred by a broken family structure and too many 'black community leaders' who egg them on and excuse their every wrongdoing.

Welfare. In the ‘50’s the illegitimacy rate among blacks was even lower than among whites, now I think it's over 50%. There are no male role models in far too many black homes so they look elsewhere; to the gangs.

Since you don't need an education to get on the dole the mothers don't care about the kids’ school performance, figuring they will just be parasites like her.

If you don't have a job you need to go to it isn't a big problem if you spend some time in jail; the welfare check will be waiting for you when you get out.

As I see it, some factors:

Inadequate upbringing resulting in little self-discipline
No long term goals
Lots of idle time
Escapism in alcohol and drugs
Feelings of inadequacy and being (self-)disadvantaged
Little respect for parents’ teachings (if any of note)
Rejection of the larger society
Too much testosterone + too little self control

it depends on which "blacks" -- for instance recent immigrants from the Carribbean or Africa who are untouched by African American culture here (or rather MODERN AA C) are not any more prone to crime than any other grouping of people

But those who drink deeply of that culture -- whether black OR white or whatever are prone to crime.

I think you’d find the bottom 20-25% of the black population are responsible for the overwhelming percentage of black crime. Sterilization of the black underclass would do wonders for black Americans as well as the country.
