Support for the tea party continues to fall among Americans, nearing all-time lows, according to a new poll Thursday. Twenty-two percent of Americans call themselves tea party backers, the Gallup poll found, while 27 percent consider themselves opponents of the tea party. Fifty-one percent choose neither or have no opinion.

The level of support is a 10-point drop from November 2010, when a wave of pro-tea party sentiment helped Republicans take control of the House of Representatives, and is also down from 2012, when the GOP managed to hang on to the House and current tea party firebrand Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was was elected.

Support?

One is either self nominated or not. One either is or is not.

This is a total scam.

I disagree with Ted Cruz, in that I don’t want to keep our taxes the way they are.

I think we need to organize and counter with a proposal which lowers taxes, ourselves, but I still enthusiastically support Ted Cruz.

He’s not exactly right in my opinion, but I still support him enthusiastically.

Go Ted!!

One could craft a poll that gets 57% of people to approve of pushing their granny off a cliff. As Sarah so eloquently put it - leave the polls to skiers and strippers.

Results for this Gallup poll are based on telephone interviews conducted Sept. 5-8, 2013, with a random sample of 1,510 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. …
Can anyone say non-representative sample?

Poll: Support for tea party slips

I'm sure. He's now supported by only 98% of Americans. He's really in trouble now!

I’m not surprised that it has slipped. And don’t do the “it must be a Liberal poll” BS. When you take a principled stand, people get uncomfortable. So what? I’d be shocked if our approval DIDN’T drop. What, you think people like us? If so, get a clue.

Un skew the polls!!! How did that work out the last time? Lol a poll is a tool to see how your message is received so yo can reach and mold. To dismiss because you don’t like it well we already saw how that worked. Polling on tea party has been consistent over last year between 30/70 to 35/65 fav unfav. I make no judgements just numbers.

That’s OK, in Broncobamas America most people aren’t happy with much of anything.

U.S. distrust of the mass media is at an all-time high, according to a new poll from Gallup, which indicates that six in ten Americans have little or no trust in mass media to report the news fully, accurately, and fairly.

Congress approval rating at 17% in August.

Obama’s approval rating sucks rocks, too.

Bugger off, Politico—figure out what the media can do to improve themselves.

Some misinformed people they think Rubio is the leader of the Tea Party. So some people think unlimited war, amnesty and big wanky speeches.

A lot of people would connect Rand Paul with Ron Paul and not being under the Tea Party. Also you had a lot of establishment types who thought they were part of the tea party.

Wait a minute, a little over a year ago, the Tea Party was supposed to have been all but dead and gone... now we find out its loosing steam. So which is it, on life support or down in the pols a little bit. Reality means nothing to these ignoramuses.
