Should David Dewhurst challenge John Cornyn?

Interesting question. In my mind, there is no question. But that isn’t why I’m writing this.

I attended the Downtown Houston Pachyderm Club weekly luncheon today as usual. As most of you know, that is my favorite club in the Houston Metro area. I attend dozens of club meetings but this is the one club that I call home. I like it because the attendees are a broad cross section of the Harris County Republican Party. You always have attorneys and judges because of The Spaghetti Warehouse’s proximity to the various courthouses in downtown Houston. As well, you get grassroots activists such as Harris County District Clerk Chris Daniel, Harris County Clerk Stan Stanart, and their supporters. You always have candidates testing the waters. And you have bloggers, such as Bob Price of TexasGOPVote.com, and Yvonne Larsen and Don Hooper with BJP. And always a lot of HCRP precinct chairs like Betty Avery, Peggy Lindow, Ann Lee, etc. Tea party folks like Jim Lennon and Fred Blanton. SREC reps like Valoree Swanson and Bonnie Lugo. Insiders, outsiders, grassroots, and newbies – the perfect place to gauge Republican politics in Harris County. Plus, to be frank, the food is good and cheap – hey, I’m down with $8 for a salad, entree, and drink. Yeah, I’m a (cheap) conservative!

NO! Dewhurst needs to retire from politics forever. He's a GOP-E sleazebag.

Give Dewhurst the Boot in 2014 (((Ping List)))

To be added or removed from this list, freepmail me.
This is a low volume ping list at this time.

No. Dewhurst would be a clone of Cornyn. Let’s try to get Louis Gohmert to run for that seat. Now THERE would be another conservative senator from TX.

“Why would anyone want to replace Cornyn with DEWHURST?”

Don’t know. But I thought it was an interesting idea when I saw the article. I want the leadership of the republicans in the senate removed from power so we get new leadership. Cornyn is the whip, and if McConnell is defeated in the primary, I don’t want him to become minority leader or majority leader.

My guess is that Dewhurst is more conservative than Cornyn but I could be wrong.

Ok. My goal is to remove the republican leadership by any means possible. Hopefully somebody will step up that can take him out or force a runoff.

Oh good grief! Not no but HELL NO.

Dewhurst is another mamby pamby RINO.

Remember folks, David Dewhurst outspent Ted Cruz by leaps and bounds during their Senate race, had name recognition and the GOP establishment machine behind him....he lost to Ted Cruz.

Here in Texas, David Dewhurst lost because he is a GOP water boy. In the club.

We want a trail blazer in Cornyn’s seat. Kay Bailey Hutchison was replaced by Tea Party candidate Ted Cruz because we do not need another moderate RINO...we need strong conservatives in office.

Dewhurst is worse than Cornyn. That lying weasel did everything he could to slime Cruz. Dewhurst is for Dewhurst. Period. Good-old-boy(tm) to the hilt.

Perhaps you've noticed that some of us Texians feel strongly about Mr. Dewhurst. ;)

Ok. Then forget the idea. My strategy is to remove the leadership, and want Cornyn removed.

Makes sense to me....if your a rino loving idiot. We in Texas are looking for another Ted Cruz, Dewhurst is the same as Cornyn. Louie Gomert would be a better fit.

Yes, I have, haha. Being from MA, obviously I don’t know the man (but don’t take that to mean that I support moderates). I just want the leadership removed from power.

Based on what I saw in Cornyn’s appearance on Fox News yesterday, I’d welcome any real conservative to run against him and I would support and give him/her money.
