Obamacare: Frustration over health insurance premiums rises among employers
NJ.Com ^ | 9/27/2013 | By Ted Sherman/The Star-Ledger

Every year, Jeffrey Scheininger, president of Flexline/U.S. Brass & Copper Corp., sees the health insurance premiums of his small manufacturing company in Linden go up.

And he does not think things are going to get much better once the landmark Affordable Care Act finally kicks in.

"It's monumentally frustrating," said Scheininger, former chairman of the state Chamber of Commerce, who supported health care overhaul, but is less than thrilled with how it turned out.

"The difference between the hope they held out versus what they delivered is phenomenal," he said.

The act affects different businesses in different ways, primarily based on the size of a company. It requires large companies — those that employ at least 50 people full time, more than 30 hours per week — to offer health insurance coverage for those full-time employees and their dependents, or pay a penalty.

Yeah probably, I’m gambling that as part of the leasing company their numbers will be high enough that it won’t be a huge hit.

If it goes up too much I’ll have to pass the costs on to the employee.

XSS, XSRF, MITM, link- and image-injection... dude as a Federal Contractor on websites, you know I know my stuff. :)

But probably a mismatch. I’m a developer who defends against this stuff. Not so much an ethical hacker who penetrates. :)

I was going for the innuendo. Knowing how to defend helps on the attack.

But you federal contractors make too much and are always posting on the web during work hours, unlike us private people. /s :)

Democrats

Don't blame the Democrats. The Republicans have the power to stop it and instead the entrenched are mostly siding with Obamacare.

Socialists destroy all ‘free-enterprise’ entities they touch.

Automobile manufacturing, food distribution, land management, housing, transportation and now - insurance.

Health insurance companies have been successful - because of good risk management, competition and integrity.

When I began work as a health ins. claims adjuster I had a high percentage of denials and felt quite proud of my accomplishments - until the founder and President called me into his office. He stated that the reputation of the Company was built on trust: “Every claim is payable - except those that are not. So please, look for every rationale to pay benefits unless the loss falls outside the terms of the contract.”

When the Gubmint has no incentive to protect policy holders (tax payers), honor the contract or collect sufficient premiums to cover unexpected losses (not -abortion, pre-existing conditions, Viagra, sex reassignments and Pelosi’s botox).....it cannot possibly be called insurance.

BTW, as a fed contractor, I make about 20-25K less than market. However, the work I do actually makes a REAL LIFE difference in infant lives, worldwide, and a direct difference. So... that satisfaction is a trade-off for the missing money.

“who supported health care overhaul, but is less than thrilled with how it turned out.”

Historically this is the case EVERY time the government meddles in the market. That people don’t understand this concept is amazing to me!

Yup. Two part time jobs that is. No full time work.

More is better, right?
