Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is already reaping benefits from his 21-hour stand against President Barack Obama's new health care law, as a new poll shows him leading the way for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.

Cruz garnered 20 percent support compared to 17 percent for Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., 14 percent for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, 11 percent for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and 10 percent each for Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., according to a survey by Public Policy Polling released Friday. Cruz improved 8 percent from a similar poll in July.

The GOP financers will want Jeb for NJ Fats. Rand will split the conservative vote.

Why would RAND, who leans libertopian and has slowly begun embracing the GOPe side, split the conservative vote?

And this is what happens when you get a backbone and go on the attack. I really hope this man wins the Presidency, I used to think the Dems were a lock for 2016, but I think if we have a nominee that fights the media an the liberals that we can win. I think that man is Ted Cruz.

But Jeb Bush is the nominee.

I don't know where you're getting that. I know we all have reason to be skeptical and pessimistic, especially with the way things have been going for the past eight years, but the American people win when conservatives run. The last race in 2012 was full of washups (Gingrich, Santorum, etc), minor political stars Herman Cain, and a go along to get along liberal in Mitt Romney. Let's also not forget that Palin took the air out of the room by not running and that resulted in a lot of conservative support splintering among one nominee to the next.

Here's an optimistic fact - Cruz's star is on the rise. Hopefully, he decides to run, and I think he will have enough conservative support to overcome other washups, Jeb Bush, and liberals such as Chris Christie. FRiend we need a strong conservative nominee if we do that it will fix a lot of our problems for conservative electoral woes.

Ted Cruz would totally kick Hitlary’s ass..it would be hilarious to watch.

Yep, that would happen because Cruz wouldn't treat Hilldabeast with kid gloves or call her a "rock star" like McLame did. The truth of the matter is that Obama, Hillary and all Dems are very vulnerable, but you have a GOP that's scared to death of fighting back, and if you don't fight back you get pushed around. If Cruz got the chance to take the fight to these punks he could win with a walk off home run in an electoral landslide.

ANY other person who has the blood of 4 dead Americans on their hands wouldnt stand a snowballs chance in hell in becoming President, wouldnt even get within 1000 feet of the White House, but Hillary Clinton, yeah she is pretty much exempt, she can murder whoever she wants(Just like her hubby), lie about it, and get away with it because she is a lib and a Clinton..Ted Cruz would kick her stinkin ass in but just like with Obama, they will protect him..they will have fat ass Candy Crowley as moderator and protect her from meanie meanie Ted Cruz

I wouldn’t count on Ted Cruz to run the same campaign that Romney did. I also wouldn’t count on him putting the old Rovian guard in place to coordinate his campaign. Our electoral woes have been tied to bad campaign management and bad candidates. Saying Ted Cruz would have Candy Crowley as a mod, is like me saying that the new coach of my favorite football team is going to hire the same personel - sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn’t. We should worry if one of the GOPE establishment puppets get their turn; I’m not going to worry about Cruz.
