President Obama ‘Exasperated’ by Shutdown, Says, ‘I Have Bent Over Backwards to Work With the Republican Party’

President Obama said today that he was “exasperated” by the government shutdown and made clear that he will not negotiate with Republicans until Congress passes a clean bill to re-open the government and agrees to raise the debt ceiling.
“During the course of my presidency, I have bent over backwards to work with the Republican party,” the president told CNBC’s John Harwood in an interview. ”I think I’m pretty well known for being a calm guy. Sometimes people think I’m too calm. And am I exasperated? Absolutely, I’m exasperated. Because this is entirely unnecessary.”
“I am exasperated with the idea that, unless I say that, ‘Twenty million people, you can’t have health insurance,’ these folks will not reopen the government. That is irresponsible,” he said of Republicans’ repeated efforts to defund or delay his signature health care law as part of any bill to fund the government.
Just hours before the president was scheduled to meet with Congressional leaders at the White House, he said he’s prepared to “negotiate on anything” but not until Republicans agree to a clean piece of legislation to reopen the government and to increase the nation’s borrowing ability.

Obama’s exasperated already?
Well of course, the longer this shutdown lasts, the more it eats into his golfing and vacationing time. Damn those evil TeaPartiers! How can they be so selfish!
I suspect Obama’s biggest frustration is the fact that, despite all his threats and insults, he has no leverage over the Republicans, because of the separation-of-powers - and so WILL have to ultimately compromise, something he utterly hates. Plus the public isn’t automatically rallying to his side this time.
Stay frustrated, Barry, we’re loving the way you appear more irrelevant every day.
Why are we uprooting healthcare for 330 million people so 20 million could get it. Couldn’t they come up with a better plan? Hell, with all the money they spent advertising the damn thing could have insured them. He thinks we all fell off the turnip truck.
It’s the press you have to despise. Obama says he will negotiate anything but he won’t negotiate; He bends over backwards but they must pass exactly what he wants.
And they report this as if it makes sense.
Seems to me he has clearly contradicted himself. Negotiate AFTER he gets what he wants???

The sad thing is...people believe this crap. Take the rest out of the discussion and just focus on the lie....this bill doesn’t take health insurance from anyone it puts of forcing people to buy it under the mandate. Pure lies. Shows the strategy of the left. Lies and deceit.
