Tuesday morning, seven National Park Service employees were seen erecting and tending to a barricade around the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C. One NPS employee was operating a forklift. There usually aren't any NPS employees working at the World War II memorial.
A couple hours later, when an Honor Flight of World War II veterans arrived, accompanied by Democratic and Republican members of Congress, the fences blocking the memorial were easily moved away, allowing the veterans to enter.
But the barriers are still at the memorial, and they've been reinforced. This morning, I walked by the memorial and noticed that wires had been used to tie the fences together:

I am incredulous at how tone deaf the administration is about the WWII Memorial issue. It is just plain dumb on their part to let their opponents take the moral high ground. And even to give their enemies a physical rallying point!
When this issue broke earlier this week, the only reason I could see for the administration to do this was the belief that they could score a photo op of the WWII vets being tearfully turned away. That way, they could blame the Pubbies. When it did not happen, the smart thing to do would have been to quietly remove the barriers or just look the other way. I thought that was what was happening on Wednesday. Instead it looks like they are more than doubling down.
I read that another Honor Flight is scheduled for Wednesday October 9. That may be the key date. Will it be Selma or Omaha Beach?

No, some little douchebag bureaucratic federal weasel that can’t be fired signs his/her paycheck and has it direct-deposited (so the money can be instantly STOPPED should one of their employees get “uppity”).
When was the last time YOU PERSONALLY signed and handed one of these folks their check?
Like I said - I know how it’s SUPPOSED to work - But reality is what it is.
It’s up to each and every Alphabet agent to decide, there and on the spot - who they are going to listen to: Barry, or the voice in their head that tells them what is right.
Doing what’s RIGHT has consequences. Job-ending consequences for people that have families to feed.
Life has choices, and choices have consequences.
The real question is - are you ready to deal with the consequences of your choices?
Some people will - Because some things are more important than money, and principles need to be believed in and acted upon; you either BELIEVE you are a Free Man and ACT like it - like our Ancestors did - or you don’t.
It’s pretty much that simple.
But I fear you’ll see many more that will forget that they are Americans first, and just do what they’re told to do, to protect themselves.
An AMERICAN would say “f*** this” and either NOT put the wire ties on, or slice them a little while installing them so they break at the slightest touch.
An AMERICAN would “f*** this” and step aside and HOLD the barricade open as a 90+ year old AMERICAN veteran came up in his wheelchair.
We’ll see who the Americans are - and who they aren’t.
