FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ - A Fountain Hills man says he may soon have to get another job just to pay for healthcare insurance under the new Affordable Care Act.
Michael Cerpok, is a high school drop-out, one of six kids born to a school teacher, and doesnt come from a wealthy family. He has run two businesses for more than 25 years and says he may have to do more to literally stay alive.
I've worked hard because I've had to, and Ive had to, because cancer runs in my family," says Cerpok, who picked his current health insurance based on that family history. His monthly premium is just about half of his monthly take-home pay.
Back in 2006, he found out he had an incurable form of leukemia that requires ongoing treatment until he dies.
In 2012, his treatment bill was more than $350,000. But because of his insurance, his out-of-pocket was only $4,500.
Thats about to change because Michael just got a letter from his insurance carrier saying as of January 1, he would be dropped from coverage because of new regulations under Obamacare. His doctor at the Mayo Clinic may be gone as well.

“Michael realizes millions of people will benefit from the coverage, but he wants them to realize that others are making sacrifices to make that happen.”
What weve done with Obamacare is have a step in the right direction, but were far from having something thats going to work forever, Reid said.
When show panelist Steve Sebelius asked if that meant eventually doing away with insurance-based coverage, Reid replied, Yes, yes. Absolutely, yes.

One goal of Obamacare is to not have any more stroke survivors. Compare fully socialized England to semi-socialized Canada to the US here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2691453/
Single Payer is just a step away from Single Provider.
It’s amazing to see ObamaCare is working as intended and people are still putting up with it.
Anyone who actually believes tha ObamaCare was intended to reduce healthcare costs and provide better quality of care also thinks Santa Claus is up in the North Pole making CAT Scan machines to leave under hospital Christmas Trees this December
The good thing about it is that the sheep who clamored so loudly and long for it are about to find out. That is what all the,” mr. president, this is not what I voted for when I voted for you”, bawling is going to be. But what they are too stupid to grasp is, yes it is exactly what they voted for.
” This is what Obama and the Democrats intended. Does he think anyone else is to blame?”
I was thinking the same thing. Death panels won’t event be needed.
>>There is no turning back now. John Roberts sealed our fate.<<
JR didn’t elect Obama. Stupid Americans did. Being stupid hurts. We are learning just how much it hurts these days.
I am enjoying watching the sonsofbictches who put Obama in power hurt.
I think you got it, except that I think the preventative visits are no copay and you don’t file for the subsidy with your taxes. It comes off the premium to begin with. Oh, and the deadline is Dec 15 not Dec 31.
I wonder how long it’ll be before someone in a similar tough spot decides to go out with a flourish, taking a bunch of federal scalps in the process? Unintended consequences a-comin’.
What would prompt anyone to assume that single payer would be any different or better than Obama's (UN)Affordable Healthcare Act?
Other than out future president failed to get any interest in it almost 20 years ago?
FUTURE PRESIDENT
Thanks for the correction.
Brain death from having attended collectivist indoctrination centers?
I was the guy who said no way could Baraq get re-elected with $4 gas, 8% unemployment, and surging food prices.
So the kerfluffle over Obamacare may or may not be significant in the final analysis, as long as the entitlements keep gushing out.
Yeah, I know what you mean. Shortly after he won in 08, I predicted the ‘10 rout, and thought he’d get so severely trounced in ‘12 that the Dems might even do away with him during his first term to avoid having to run him again. Shows what I know.
