North Carolinians Shocked By The Size Of Insurance Premium Increases Caused By Obamacare

How many Americans are being smashed by these same sort of crushing financial blows because of Obamacare? Across North Carolina, thousands of people have been shocked in recent weeks to find out their health insurance plans will be canceled at the end of the year – and premiums for comparable coverage could increase sharply. One of them is George Schwab of Charlotte, who pays $228 a month for his family’s $10,000 deductible plan from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. In a Sept. 23 letter, Blue Cross notified him that his current plan doesn’t meet benefit requirements outlined in the Affordable Care Act and suggested a comparable plan for $1,208 a month – $980 more than he now pays. “I’m 62 and retired,” Schwab said. “This creates a tremendous financial burden for our family. “The President told the American people numerous times that… ‘If you like your coverage, you can keep it,’” Schwab said. “How can we keep it if it has been eliminated? How can we keep it if the premium has been increased 430 percent in one year?”

True “progressives” know in their heart of hearts that the Affordable Care Act is a clever scheme designed to collapse the US health care system into a government operated (called single payer by progressives) socialist scheme. They want glitches and difficulty with the sheeple shocked and scared so they can ride to the rescue with single payer. I must say that their plan appears to be working perfectly.

I watched the first episode of Walking Dead on DVD over the weekend. In one scene, one of the characters comes out of a hospital room into the hallway outside. The lights are flickering, there’s smoke in the air. At one end is a crowd of shambling zombies. Turning around at the other end is a group of soldiers in MOPP4 gear shooting patients with long, ripping bursts of full auto. The whole place is enveloped in a miasma of lethal pandemonium.

I thought, “Is this ‘Walking Dead’, or an Obamacare promo”?

Free, Hell. They were expecting to get an Obamacare check every month.
Not only that, the people who will pay a penalty will have to pay it in a lump sum if they don’t get a tax refund. These are the same people who won’t pay for health insurance. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I bet the 2013 tax returns / rebates will be a fiasco. Some will not get their rebates or their EIC checks they expect, and have gotten of decades. Some people who have taken the time to actually enroll will get money they are not entitled to and some who are supposed to get money back won’t....................

I know what you mean. :-) We are surrounded by walking dead of sorts. They are barely intelligent, disengaged, mind numbed, driven by passions for eating and entertainment.

The prices are bad enough, what really frosts me is the increase deductibles, increased co pays and out of pocket expenses while I am stuck with junk I don’t need such as maternity, pediatric dental and pediatric vision. At 62 I already paid those dues. My premium went from 322 in 2011 to 355 in 2012 to 422 in 2013. I had 5000 deductible and 0 percent copay. Now bcbs wants 654.98 for a hsa with higher deductibles and services are all no coverage til I hit my 6250 deductible per year.

What the hell did these people think? These shallow-minded idiots who watch CNN and read their local lefty papers.
Intelligent people like FR readers knew what was going to happen, but none of the idiots wanted to listen to us.
