A mother in the Bryant School District in Arkansas -- a district using the controversial Common Core curriculum -- was surprised to learn her sixth-grade daughter was given a team assignment to revise the Bill of Rights, pruning two amendments from the Constitution while adding two others, Twitchy reported Monday, citing a report at the Digital Journal. The assignment made the assumption that the United States government has determined that the Bill of Rights “is outdated and may not remain in its current form any longer.” The children were to assume the persona of “experts on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights” in their aim to ensure that “the pursuit of happiness remains guarded in the 21st century,” despite the fact that the phrase "pursuit of happiness" exists in the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution. Twitchy also hoped that one of these "experts" would realize the Constitution isn't amended by a "special committee." Lela Spears, the girl's mother, told the Digital Journal her daughter has not received any training in civics or government. "After she brought it home and explained her assignment to me, it made me question exactly what she was being taught. Where I can see a class using critical thinking skills to modernize the words, as to help them better understand the Amendments, giving an assignment to remove two then add two with little explanation as to why is upsetting," she said. Spears also said her daughter had no clue why she was being tasked with amending the Constitution. According to the mother, her child was never told how the Constitution is amended, and told the Journal she didn't believe the word "amended" was ever used in the class. This is unacceptable. We good folks need to band together and demand our schools drop common core. The largest percent of our property taxes go to our schools, so we must have a say in what is being taught to our children.
“Common Core” is just a smokescreen....a fancy modern term
representing part of the communist agenda to destroy a free
America. Part of that multiple stage attack on freedom is the
propaganda war....if they lie large enough and loudly enough
their lies become reality. One of those lies is the Constitution
is flexible and malleable and can be “interpreted” as needed
to achieve their agenda. Rewriting the Bill of Rights “as needed
to represent todays needs” is just a part of that lie. It matters not
however if they change the BOR the correct constitutional way or
by lying and cheating. The results are ALL that matters therefore
ANY lie, act or ploy that succeeds automatically becomes acceptable.
Why risk failure by following the accepted legal methods when
you can just lie to impressionable students to con them into
accepting an illegitimate method and once enough students ha e
been propagandized, grown up and become part of the adult world
you can edit the constitution as desired by the new easy method
in any fashion desired.
Common Core adherents and proponents are every bit as fanatical
and every bit as big a danger to the lives of non believers as the sixth
century degenerate savages who worship the pedophilic prophet.
A rational sane response to such threats is to exterminate by any
means required. Far too many conservatives choose to believe
that fanatics from both pseudo religions....islam and communism
...are people who can be negotiated with, reasoned with and trusted.
They are fools for thinking that.
Neither group can be trusted and members of both groups will
lie to you, cheat you,steal from and if necessary and expedient kill
you. And they can do it without hesitation because the “religion”
they are infected with has taught them that ANY price required to
achieve the end goal is acceptable. No other concept of
good/bad, right/wrong, moral/immoral is relevant or considered.
The only measure acceptable is will it achieve my goal....if yes it is good, if no then it is bad move on to the next methodology.
History proves that if people who are free, who merely want to live
their lives as they choose refuse to eliminate without mercy people
who seek to kill or enslave them then normal people who just want
to live their lives will end up dead or enslaved.
It’s a fight to the death and most conservatives refuse to believe
that....and that the fight is martial, not idealogic. Politics is merely
war by other means....and the enemy’s of freedom will freely switch
between the two methodology’s as needed, this means if they can’t
convert you or enslave you then killing you is perfectly acceptable.
Refusal to accept and operate within those parameters is suicide, both
politically and physically.

The Second Amendment and Tenth Amendment.
They have spent since the sixties re-framing the meaning of words, the parameters of arguments, the acceptability of behaviors and the normalizing of perversion now all that is left are the founding documents. Once the droves of mindless unthinking dependent zombies seriously outnumber the rest of you then all bets are off. Their biggest problem is they keep on aborting potential Democrat voters or they would be getting this done now. That’s why they need the minds of your kids!
Remove the Second Amenment. Replace with “The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”.
Remove the Third Amendment. Replace with Congress ‘s power to regulate interstate commerce is limited to ensuring free trade and preventing the imposition of interstate tariffs.
Reading the comments after the article is enlightening. There are a lot of people out there who are ready to completely believe this ‘exercise’ is just putting ‘critical thinking’ into practice and that there is nothing wrong with it - they are socialists.
They believe that any group, committee, or, in their minds - cabal, can successfully redo anything - if enough of the right kind of people can agree on it. A troublesome word - redo. They can ‘redo’ everything; they just can’t ‘do’ anything.
Get into the mind of a child and see what’s being said here: “Bill of Rights - no good -outdated” “Take away the bad parts and put in two new ‘good parts’ (what have I been hearing lately? Healthcare? Gun Violence?).”
Couple the school and peer-pressured child with parents that are upset (just like “You didn’t clean your room!” “You did this...you did that!”). All they want is no trouble. No trouble with the teacher, no trouble with other classmates. They spend a lot more time with them than with their parents.
If they these ‘educators’ wanted an exercise in critical thinking, why not dissect one of Obama’s lame speeches and rewrite it with the restriction that anything he ‘wants’ has to comport with the Bill of Rights. How about taking the most prominent parts of the Quran and doing the same thing? How about almost anything else?
The fact is this Common Core started with the most important regulating document of our country and said it was ‘outdated’ According to who? Obama?
To take such a document which I regard as the product of a group of divinely inspired men (the real critical thinkers) and to equate it to ‘inappropriate for today’ is trickery soley aimed at nothing but brainwashing young minds.
It is a philosophical attack on our foundations, more deadly than the planes that struck the Twin Towers in my opinion.
Even the name suggest it is Communist inspired. It has to be another Soros funded effort to corrupt the minds of our children. How did this latest insidious effort to steal and indoctrinate the minds of our children occur right under our noses and get implemented so easily?

Unfortunately there are a lot of GOP run states....including here in Florida....that not only refuse to block Commie Core....they endorse it
easy assignment - good learning op for the kiddo’s..
Remove the 2nd ammendment;
replace with “the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
Remove the 7th ammendment
Replace with modern language basically saying the same thing - would be a good research project.
**In your ammendment** add a section to REPEAL the 16th Ammendment to the constitution.
I would enjoy the opportunity to have this conversation with my child and help with this assignment. Parents are still more powerful than a teacher (whether their intentions align with your philosophy or not) real learning still happens at home.
Of course we have a pretty good idea what the “intent” of this assignment is - but it can be turned into a “teachable Moment”
Respect your children. Home school them or enroll them in a quality private school.
How can God given rights be "outdated"? To liberals, the very concept of God is outdated.
People who become too civilized to do what's necessary to survive in an uncivilized world will not survive, nor should they survive.
Doubtless the teacher knows as little about history and civics as the child.
Every day, in every public school in the country, little future communists are given their extreme indoctrination to the public good as written by political gods.
This has been going on for over 50 years and now the fruit of the communist/socialist movement has ripened to the point that the future of America WILL BE CHANGED forever for the worst.
Us, in the older generation, simply look in horror as to what has happened to our once free and independent society and know that the “new generation” far outnumber us and that clearly means that it is impossible to change the direction set forth by our public indoctrination centers.
The “Rubicon” of freedom has been crossed and there is no turning back. The Amnesty move will assure that....and it WILL happen.
There is so much bad news out there each day that it takes me about two hours to catch up on it in my morning read, and even then I can’t read it all.
I’m an old fart and remember when America was free, crime was down, morality ruled the day and “safety” was guaranteed by the legal system’s ability to actually enforce the law based upon facts and not politics.
My only salvation is knowing that within the next 15 years I will be gone and have left no surviving children to suffer under the government that will be in place then.
Citizens of this country “have made their bed and now lay in it to sleep.”
