LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Until very recently, the National Park Service was one of the least-loathed government agencies in the country. Now, with orders from on high to keep the public from visiting beloved parks and monuments the agency is developing a poor reputation.

It what looks like a spiteful move, the NPS even removed handles from water spigots along the Chesapeake and Ohio canal where bikers and joggers exercise as well as along the Great Allegheny Passage, just to ensure people don't get any water from them...

They aren’t all gov. bullies...in some cases they’re hired temp thugs...but we’re paying for them. I watched a video of that in Phila. where they are “guarding” Independence HAll....they got called on it too by a reporter/journalist....good video too.
I think you have described it. The government employees are waging war against those who promote the private sector. The free market system is under attack with regulations and taxes. They do not consider that they depend upon the public sector for economic survival. They think we are "Wacko Birds" for giving resistance and saying it. We only hope that the democratic process in a republic will fix what is wrong soon enough. If not, the idiots who promoted their socialist Utopia will go hot.

While I understand the anger, I don't think it's fair to blame this on the park rangers, these decisions were made at higher levels.
Have had water fountains turned off during the winter in the north.
Ordinarily, these NPS critters would have to plan on going home and living among the human citizens.
For some strange reason, they are behaving like they expect the human citizens to disappear, or something.

The feds do have jurisdiction in this area of Fla. bay it happens to be within the Everglades Nat.Park. Trouble is none of this had to happen its jut more of the “making it hurt” philosophy the higher ups have told the rangers to do to us nation wide.
Thanks on their behalf. I think the captains played it smart by not venturing into park waters since they had extra rangers there to patrol and had boats ready to confiscate anyone’s skiff who dared venture into park waters.Its almost gestapoesque,weird for down here. It’s usually pretty laid back down here.
nope, had em a long time. need them for animals and for loser thugs that do cause issues iun the parks. especially in large parks. probablk noit so much smaller, more urban parks.
