In 2008, Barack Obama promised a fundamental transformation of America. Where that promise has gone unfulfilled the most is in areas of sexual and racial discrimination. What's worse is the official sanction given to such discrimination. Let's look at some of it. Visit just about any California men's prison and you will see that one's race determines whom he cells with, the toilet and shower he uses, and what recreation areas he enjoys. Then there is sexual discrimination. Female correctional officers earn the same pay as their male counterparts. However, when it comes to extracting a dangerous inmate from his...

While the recent videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s barbaric practice of selling and negotiating the price of aborted babies’ body parts—and the organs of those born alive—has convinced some Democrats that enough is enough when it comes to taxpayer funding for the abortion giant, others are remaining steadfast in their support for the group. Unfortunately, the White House is among the loyal, it seems. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, White House Press Secretary maintained that the undercover videos were highly edited and distorted. And when asked by a reporter where he is receiving his information, Earnest’s replied Planned Parenthood. “Based on the...

This White House actually seems to believe that incompetence and cluelessness is a valid excuse for misbehavior. Asked when he first learned of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email system as Secretary of State, the President responded with his tired line of having learned about the latest scandal “through news reports”. I’m beginning to think the guy wasn’t even aware he was elected President until he saw himself taking the oath of office on the nightly news. Obama Says He Heard About Hillary's Emails "Through News Reports"Also: Captain Renault was shocked to discover that Rick’s café was home to illegal gambling....

Could this argument be any dumber? The Obama administration has forced America and much of the world into a debate no one wanted or needed. Namely, does Islamic terrorism have anything to do with Islam. This debate is different than the much-coveted "national conversation on race" that politicians so often call for (usually as a way to duck having it), because that is a conversation at least some people want. The White House doesn't want a conversation about Islam and terrorism. White House spokesman Josh Earnest says, "We have chosen not to use that label [of radical Islam] because it...

The US State Department issued a travel warning Monday on Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, strongly warning US citizens against travel to the Gaza Strip. The advisory was updated due to what the State Department said was the complex security environment in the region.

And the band played on. As the holiday season approaches, they are dancing on Wall Street with the Dow, S&P and NASDQ either at or approaching all-time highs. And while his popularity is rapidly joining his Health Care Reform Act near the bottom of the political trash heap, the tin-eared President Obama continues to glide on the dance floor of the White House celebrating the Democrats clampdown on filibusters and an ill-advised agreement on nukes in Iran. But as this year races to an end, there looms a huge set of problems, all interconnected, that could not only end any...

Now that true horror stories of Obamacare's wrecking ball are finally reaching the public, the White House doesn't like "anecdotes." Live by tale-telling; die by tale-telling. On Tuesday, White House press secretary Jay Carney huffed that stage-four gallbladder cancer survivor Edie Littlefield Sundby's personal account in The Wall Street Journal of seeing her health insurance plan canceled and her access to doctors cut off was "sensational." Not a shred of compassion for her predicament. No sorrow for her loss. Must. Attack. Messenger. There are millions out there like Sundby who are using Facebook, Twitter, Twitchy.com and a new website called...

Senate Democrats hosted Deadliest Catch Captain Keith Colburn on the Hill today to say that he can’t go fishing because of the government shutdown. Colburn was testifying at this afternoon’s Senate Commerce Committee hearing on the economic impacts of the government shutdown. “This is the first time in my 28 years of fishing that I haven’t been in the Bering Sea in October getting ready to go fish,” Colburn said “Many fishermen and coastal communities are already facing tough times. This unnecessary shutdown may be the tipping point if the situation isn’t resolved soon… I’m a small businessman in a...

Cruz: Send ‘search team’ if I don’t return from White House By Cameron Joseph - 10/11/13 10:53 AM ET Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) joked that he might not be seen again after Friday’s meeting with President Obama at the White House. "After leaving here, I'm going to be going to the White House," he said at the Values Voter Summit of religious conservative activists. "I will make a request. If I'm never seen again, please send a search and rescue team. I very much hope I don't wake up tomorrow morning among the Syrian rebels." The line drew big laughs...

Taking their lead from the veterans who first pushed through the barricades to visit the World War II Memorial, Americans nationwide are defying the federal government shutdown, tossing aside traffic cones and toppling wooden fences to get to national parks and other federal lands that the administration has deemed out of bounds. As the shutdown hits the middle of its second week, civil disobedience has become a sensation. Some proudly post online photos of themselves overcoming the government’s obstacles, and others use more subtle ways to make their point. In Arizona, one road-stop inn is quietly giving visitors directions on how to...

On Thursday, the Pisgah Inn, which holds a concession on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville, North Carolina, announced that it would defy the National Park Service’s order to close up, and would open doors for business on Friday. On Friday morning, NPS rangers showed up, lights swirling, to close down the business and turn away its customers, supposedly thanks to the government shutdown. Pisgah Inn receives no federal money, and according to owner Bruce O’Connell, who spoke exclusively to Breitbart News, “All we do is pay the government money. We don’t take anything from them.” It is located on...

Thursday, October 10, 2013 The Obama Blockade Posted by Daniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog In the spring of ’48, the collision of wills between the free world and the red slave empire of the east came to a head in Berlin. The Communist strategy had been to push forward, to violate the spirit of the agreements and then the letter of the agreements while always claiming to be the aggrieved party. The Allies had treated the Soviet Union as if it were a credible partner that wanted to work together with them on rebuilding Europe. The Soviet Union...

– Some Catholic priests under contract or GS (general schedule) to the military are not allowed to offer the Catholic sacraments--including saying Mass, consecrating marriages, or performing baptisms--on military property during the government shutdown, and if they do, even on a volunteer basis, they risk being arrested, according to the general counsel for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA.

No water for you! Via the DC: The National Park Service has actually had someone remove the handles off all the well pumps along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal that runs 184 miles from Washington, D.C. to Cumberland, Maryland, according to sources. The NPS has also stationed officers in the park to make sure bikers don’t ride down closed bike paths and that no one can come near the scenic waterway.

The actions of the Executive Branch and the Senate have humiliated me as a proud citizen of these United States. The needless "shut down" of open air national monuments and Parks is a very great travesty that has embarrassed our Great Nation, in closing its Great National Parks to foreign visitors, as well as to our own citizens. I am appalled that you choose to fund Park Rangers to "shut down" open areas that would cost nothing to keep open, and employ the enforcers at no inconsiderable cost (in contravention to the Anti-Deficiency Act) to barricade those places. After all...
