Just 51,000 people completed Obamacare applications during the first week the Healthcare.gov website was online, according to two sources inside the Department of Health and Human Services who gave MailOnline an exclusive look at the earliest enrollment numbers.

The career civil servants, who process data inside the agency, confirmed independently that just 6,200 Americans applied for health insurance through the problem-plagued website on October 1, the day it first opened to the public.

6 weeks of debt ceiling extension may be enough time to flush this turd.

“Who in their right mind would give out all that personal info online even if the site was.secure. This is nuts”

Not sure if you know this (and I don’t agree with it)...but the way the enrollment process is structure, you have to give your personal info including bank acct info BEFORE you are given a quote or insurance option by the “exchange” site.

Isn’t that lovely?

From the article:

"Just 51,000 people completed Obamacare applications during the first week the Healthcare.gov website was online"

There is reasonably good data that says that CA had 28,000 "completed applications" and NY had 40,000 as of a few days ago. So I'm not sure where the 51,000 number comes from.

One possibility is that it represents the applications processed for just the Federal Exchange System which covers 14 states. New York and California and 35 other states have their own State run Exchange Systems.

Another point: Completed Applications do not equal Enrollments despite the common assumption that they do. In the long run many and perhaps most of those who complete their applications and are found to be qualified will sign up. But many, many of these will be pushed off to Medicaid.

At this point there is very little data on actual enrollments. Here is what I have found so far:

Kentucly 171
Maryland 326
Washington 916

This projects to a total Obamacare Enrollment of less than 500,000 in 6 months using an Excel model that I built. So to get to the 7,000,000 that Obama thinks he needs to have a viable system the Obamacare sign-ups have to increase by well over a factor of 10 if they are going to make it.

Time will tell on that.

Only 99.985% of the population to go....

Hardly.

Obama's goal is to get just 7,000,000 people to sign up. That's something around 2% of the American population. We are in the middle of this mess in order to get one person in 50 to buy something that most don't want unless it is free.

What a waste.

How does the funding work? Isn’t it the insurers who are going to take it in the shorts if not enough people sign up? The people actually signing up are more likely to be all the ones with severe health problems who maybe couldn’t get good or cheap insurance before. Isn’t it the insurers who need the young, healthy people to sign up to defray the costs of coverage for the sick ones?

The ones signing up are the ones who will find Obamacare cheaper than the alternatives. This will result in Obamacare experiencing skyrocketing costs.

The Republicans need to hold the line as all the ugliness of Obamacare comes to light.

“Most recently , I heard that ACA cost will also be determined by a credit check to determine worthiness and income verification,
although I have no confirmation. I have no first hand information about the program. “

The credit score assertion was made by an exchange “navigator” online at clickOrlando....her name is Anne Packham and get this,,,one day after her report that credit scores are used to determine rates,,,BOOOM!!!!!!!

She is know saying she made a “mistake”,,,and walking it back...

This blows my mind. I get on FB and post article after article about how bad the ACF is and few even seem to care. Everything is just strange and I sometimes wonder if I did not die somewhere along the line as the world around seems to be turning into Hell.

They won't talk about anything in a un-PC manner. Well, very few will.

When gas first started to get very high. I would make it a point to go into the office and announce, "Holy, $75 to fill up my tank" "Wow, gas is crazy" "This can't keep going on like this"...I wouldn't say anything overtly political but I was trying to get some reactions. Nothing. Not a peep. Ever.

I do the same thing when at the grocery store, I try and get some reaction about food prices--not a peep.

It just dawned on me. The rollout of Obamacare could not have been more of a disaster if they tried. Literally. It’s becoming more and more obvious that while Obama wanted the ACA rammed through so there would be “something” on the books, it was never meant to be successful. This is merely a stepping stone to a “single payer” option. They WANT “Obamacare” to be fraught with problems so they can offer and ram through the “fix” - SINGLE PAYER.

Exclusive? I’ll bet this story was shopped out to the state run media in the US and they spiked the bad news.

Thanks for your research and the numbers you provided.

51,000 people completed the ObamaCare applications?

That’s total Bull-loney. Not sure when the Brits decided to go into the tank for Obama, but based on EVERY single source from this side of the pond - there is no way 51,000 people could get past that FUBO excuse of a website and get enrolled by now.

That is absurd.
