They’re on record as wanting this failure. It is still ongoing too. They are quite zealous.

The European Commission’s top economists warned the politicians in the 1990s that the euro might not survive a crisis, at least in its current form. There is no EU treasury or debt union to back it up. The one-size-fits-all regime of interest rates caters badly to the different needs of Club Med and the German bloc.

The euro fathers did not dispute this. But they saw EMU as an instrument to force the pace of political union. They welcomed the idea of a “beneficial crisis”. As ex-Commission chief Romano Prodi remarked, it would allow Brussels to break taboos and accelerate the move to a full-fledged EU economic government. …

Does it still seem counterintuitive that politicians such as those running the EU would do something like this?

A group of Somali immigrants living in Georgia actually targeted the small town of Lewiston, Maine, and moved there to receive the generous "entitlements". They overwhelmed the small town's resources to the point that the mayor politely begged them to stop inviting more Somalis to inundate the town. The Somalis sued the town and won, forcing it to accept more federal dollars to give to them. It was a small, former logging town with many retirees.

The crime rate has risen. The town had to build more "low-income" housing to accomodate the influx of teat-sucking Somalis. They have already trashed the housing through vandalism and through such "cultural" practices as not using the plumbing as intended, making fires on the floor of their apartments, butchering goats, etc. In addition to government teat-sucking and crime, they aggressively panhandle.

Keep in mind, they were already in Georgia receiving "benefits", in a climate much more akin to where they came from. They actually targeted Lewiston in looking for a new place to infest, a place with greater "entitlements". Lewiston had them because they were rarely used. The climate was not the least bit a deterrence.

"Christian" churches such as liberal Lutherans actually receive federal dollars to import these Somalis and dump them somewhere, after which they are the problem of the community where they are dumped. All the liberal Lutherans (and other denominations which are active in this) have to do is bring them over, get compensated, and wash their hands of them. The communities they inflict are then left to deal with the crime and other dysfunction they bring (and most Somalis are Muslim, which is a whole set of problems in addition).

This is how such places as Minnesota, with its Scandinavian heritage and cold winters, have wound up being infested with large Somali populations and all the dysfunction they bring. And billboards exhorting the whites there to examine their "white privilege" , as the unfortunate victims of Mao's cultural revolution were exhorted to "self-criticise".

I’m sorry to hear that about Maine; when the money runs out they’ll go elsewhere. Minnesotans deserve their plague because when surrounding states started cutting their freebies Minnesota dragged their feet - they got stuck with the “hot potato” (an influx of Americans seeking freebies). The Somalis were just the icing on the cake there.

Here in NJ we are overwhelmed with Hispanics because the politicians want them to keep classrooms and housing full; why don;t these imported refugees get steered into Detroit (using the same logic).

American-Americans have a lot of reason to hate their government (both parties); they’ve opened our borders to skirt the normal supply/demand role in wages, and couldn’t care less how the imported dregs from the Third World rape & pillage Americans...
