Need evidence of Cruz's gains of late? He won the 2016 straw poll at the Values Voter Summit on Saturday with 42 percent of the vote and his speech at that gathering of social conservatives was received very warmly. He has become the center of gravity for a certain not-insignificant element of the Republican party. Cruz has proven that he will be

Filling a spot critical to the protection of my liberty when unable or unwilling to do so is NOT the act of a nice man. It’s like when you’re on the airplane — if you’re unwilling or unable to work the emergency exit, DON’T sit in that row and make those who are, climb over you to get free.

Well, to be fair, Cruz employed a brain, a spine, and a pair of testicles. You can't fault the GOP for losing to a guy armed with stuff they've never seen before.

Instant Freeper Classic!

The GOP got away with “we’ll settle this next time when we’ll have X and Y and Z ....

Every time the promised opportunity came (as in NOW) they caved and kicked the can for later.

Sorry guys we can’t wait

That is an important point. Cruz can unite every component of the conservative movement into a unified whole. Not since Reagan has this happened.....

Wow, she really does, doesn't she? They claim people are physically attracted to mates who have facial features similar to their own. Guess in this case it's true.

I keep remembering how Reagan did not have the GOP’s support for a long while - but then he won by a huge majority! They must be terrified of Cruz - all the reports are focused on destroying him.

Both sides are scared of Cruz. He does not climb into the gutter and name-call, but he makes a cogent and rational argument. If the Libs and GOP-e hate him, he must be doing something right. Graham, McCain, and Kirk need to have the intellectual honesty to switch parties. Make room for Conservatives.
