Sen. Graham to Republicans: 'Face Reality That ObamaCare Cannot Be Stopped'
FOX News ^ | Oct 13, 2013 | FOX News Insider

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has called President Obama a “pathetic leader” for his lack of involvement in negotiations to end the government shutdown. He slammed the president’s unwillingness to compromise with Republicans as “immature.”

Today on America’s News HQ, Graham told anchor Doug McKelway, “For [Republicans] to suggest to the American people that we could defund ObamaCare or delay it for a year by shutting down the government, I think was unrealistic.”

With the debt limit just four days away, Sen. Graham said, “I’m not going to vote for any deal coming out of the Senate that doesn’t have a reasonable chance of getting a majority of House Republicans understanding that defunding and delaying ObamaCare is a bridge too far.”

Sen. Graham is pathetic. If the Republican controlled House does not fund obamaCare, it doesn’t get funded. It’s as simple as that. And there’s not a thing the pathetic Obama or Reid or the pathetic Graham, McCain, McConnell, et al can do about it.

This is per James Madison’s Federalist 58 - the constitution gives the power of the purse to the people’s representatives in the House for the specific purpose of reining in a runaway chief executive and senate. It’ our constitutional check and balance on unconstitutional expansionist government.

Dear House Reps: Ignore the pathetic RINO surrender monkeys. We the people have your backs! Do your constitutional duty! Defund ObamaCare!! And hold the line on the debt!! Obama would spend us into oblivion if given the chance.

It can be delayed. And if it can be delayed it can be stopped with a Republican sweep of Congress. I think there’s actual anger brewing against Democrats. The morons are waking up because they are in pain and blaming Republicans is just so worn out.

Jim,

Another correct label for the Surrender Monkies, is Collaborator.

They are nothing better than Collaborator with the Enemy.

I dunno, Jim. Graham might be right. It might be that it cannot be stopped.

But he's wrong about THIS: It *will* stop /itself/. The computer side has been such an abysmal failure, and the medical side looks just as bad, and further, nobody can afford it.

It will collapse the system outright. Therefore, it stops itself -- because the country stops.

And, frankly, that was the plan all along.

Why can’t it be stopped? I’m serious. If the House does not vote to fund it, it cannot be funded. The senate can’t fund it. The president can’t either. And if we’re not passing a bill, there’s no bill for the senate to approve or the president to veto. Like Madison said, the house has all the constitutional power on this one. And Madison intended for them to use it.

The republican house must hold the line! Do not pass a funding bill. Graham can pound sound. He has no say in the matter.

graham and his fellow travelers are so tiresome. They hate winning. To lose is to verify their identities: uber-losers.

The irony: the republicans give up the only bargaining chip they have, and a powerful one, the constitutional authority to decide what to fund and what not to fund, for ‘talks.’ The reason? Because their polling numbers fell overnight. So, in order to salvage reelection they give in. But the people who put them in office are the ones they are infuriating by their lack of cajones. As they found out in the Bush era, playing it safe to preserve your reelection chances ensures your premature retirement from public office.

Some said the Nazis couldn’t be stopped. Others, in the ‘60s, had the slogan, Better Red than Dead”. Graham is on the wrong side of history and politics.

To: Jim Robinson; All

Two things...

I guess it would be too much to expect a serious primary challenge to some of the capitulatiing, feckless wonders from the people in those states...

Second, I find their malaise to be very effective in giving some of those Representatives in other states pause enough to consider saving their own hides, instead of the countries future...

Therefore, I recommend to those FReepers to take note of their Representatives final stand on this issue...This is it, no more...A cave is a cave...

If you do not have the politiccal courage to stand up to these feckless, capitulating wastes of time and space, then I. and hopefully many others do not have any use for you, anymore...I do not care how popular you are...Popularity has no place in this debate, and therefore is not a priority...

Get over yourselves, you can be replaced, one way, or another...That is not a threat, it is a promise...

Those peole that marched on you this weekend didn’t blled for your cush accooupraments in political office!!! They are making a reasonable plea to tell you to keep focused, and not lose your courage and stand up for what is right...

Because if we have to come back...All your park police and other forces will be hard pressed to protect you from that promise...

/passionate rant!!!

I'm not sure how to take that - did I miss an obvious sarcasm or am I missing something else?

“...Sen. Graham to Republicans: ‘Face Reality That ObamaCare Cannot Be Stopped...”

Prohibition was stopped. Took a few years, but it WAS stopped. This can be too.

And while we can’t STOP it right now, we can stall, delay, stonewall, impede, derail, slow, hinder, drag, and any other adjective you can think of.... until such time as our people regain the Senate and the WH.

And ANY GOP RINO critter that gets in the way of that can KMA and should be thrown out of office at the earliest opportunity.

They’re either WITH us or AGAINST us. There’s no middle ground anymore.

Glad you’re back JR...

Sorry, but NO entitlement, once begun, has been abolished. Prohibition was only killed as it effected EVERYONE equally (except for the criminals and Congress, but I repeat myself).

Income tax is not 100yrs old, Social Security is not that far behind in age. Add in Medicare/Medicaid and the likes. Nope, OCare will be added to the list and another sucking hole to throw taxpayer $$ down will be created. Hell, most couldn’t pass Constitutional muster, yet somehow they still live on.

No. KILL it before it can begin is the ONLY way.
