What kind of leader wants a military more loyal to himself than to the rule of law?
And why?
These are two questions to ponder when considering the strange happenings in the armed forces since Barack Obama took office.
Let's start with a hypothetical. Let's say you were a hard-left-wing commander in chief who wanted the military firmly in your corner. You'd certainly note that our armed forces have been a bastion of conservatism and Christian faith, and you'd know that its members generally weren't very fond of you. So how would you go about changing this?
Some years ago I met a very young, all-American looking white fellow who had just exited the military. His reason was that he hadn't been advanced the way he believed he should have been, and he wasn't going to remain in the armed forces if it provided no future. Now, one interpretation here is that he was a millennial with an inflated opinion of himself (he didn't strike me that way, though). Yet there is another interpretation.
The Obama administration has given affirmative action in the military a dose of steroids, promoting minorities and women -- and, I believe, homosexuals and lesbians -- at the expense of white men. By the way, is this yet another reason why Obama wanted homosexuals to be able to serve openly? After all, you can't target them for special treatment if you don't know who they are.
But the point is this: if I were that hypothetical hard-left-wing leader, I'd know that one way to change the military's political climate is the same way you do it in the nation at large.

But they are not nearly as strong in trying to obtain that power. They lack moral authority/backbone.

Cops often say the most brutal murders they see are committed by homos.
Homos are sick to begin with, putting them in a position of authority just makes them that much sicker.
Like Stalin Barrycades is getting rid of all his generals. Mostly on trumped up morals charges. How is it that every general in the US armed forces is suddenly either an alkie, has a gambling problem or women on the side?
He is planning to take over and soon.
Not so sure. Zero may try, but the armed citizenry will change that. Just remember, a rifle behind every tree.
Perhaps, but the armed citizenry does not have access/capability of armed surveillance drones, micro-wave crowd control technology.

That’s what Kaddhafi thought, too. I was doing contract work for an Israeli company when the Libyan civil war broke out. He had his hand-picked goofy commanders in place in the army, and 75% of the army deserted and returned home to their provinces when Kaddhafi ordered his army to fire on protesters.
So he played his trump card - the southern mercenaries he had equipped with tons of weapons, equivalent to the federal slobs we see waddling around DC. The mercenaries started shooting college kids, and the whole country blew up.
The army deserters joined with the provincial militias. The army chief of staff was dragged into the town square and executed, along with his elite pretorian guard troops. Kaddhafi was so hard pressed for troops that he had to use cadets - equivalent to boots - to man strategic positions. The cadet’s field commanders used the boots long enough to escape and try to get out of Libya with loot they stole from Tripoli. Many were caught by militia patrols and executed.
The towns where the mercenaries lived were burned to the ground. Mercenaries were hanged from lampposts all over the country.
Kaddhafi, the eco-maniac, created a clusterflock imaginary army that got him unceremoniously killed atop the hood of an SUV - shot to death with his own gold-plated glock.
The problem for the left is that liberals and socialists will not give or sacrifice their lives for anyone or anything. They love life. Obama would have to increase the military by a factor of 4-to-1 to have the same effectiveness that is being replaced. Those leaving would have given their lives for their country, but today they may be exiting the military in order that when they do sacrifice their lives it will be to counter the government of a country they no longer recognize.
You bet it does.
