Until the regime changes, says former US president, I wont believe they have peaceful intentions
WASHINGTON Former US president George W. Bush told a Jewish gathering that he did not trust the Iranian regime to change its intentions toward Israel.
I will not believe in Irans peaceful intentions until they can irrevocably prove that its true, Bush told the 1,200 guests at the gala of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, according to several people in attendance. The United States foreign policy must be clear eyed and understand that until the form of government changes in Iran, it is unlikely that their intentions toward Israel will change.
The event, held Tuesday night at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, honored several past presidents of the organization and its longtime executive vice chairman, Malcolm Hoenlein.
Bushs appearance had not been publicized, and attendees were asked not to record or tape Bushs comments.
The program also featured video testimonials from President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as remarks from several Israeli and U.S. politicians, and Jewish notables.
Bush, Obama and Netanyahu all praised the Conference of Presidents for its work in supporting Israel and strengthening the US-Israel relationship. Attendees said that Bush thanked Conference leaders for always being professional, knowledgeable and respectful of the office of the presidency, even when there were disagreements over tactics.
One word: DUH !
Well Obama thinks you and Net are wrong. Iran is our new BFF.
Iran is Soetoro’s new BFF, not America’s. Big Diff.
What was his first clue?
Wow, nothing gets by him! Captain Obvious wears George Bush underpants!
I'd wait until they can irrefutably prove it myself.
W’s only now coming to that conclusion?
I guess he missed the many statements of the Ayotallah Khomeini beginning back around 1980, and the many statements of his successors that Israel will be wiped off the face of the earth.
Bush was naive about the genocidal terrorist Arab Palestinians, too.
Donning my flameproof suit:
Me to American Jewish leaders, I don’t trust you after your 70%+ pro Obama voting record!
Damn, you people were nearly exterminated by a powerful socialist government and yet you seem to have been siding with the socialists well before Obama.
I hope you will find a leader who can put you on a much better path as we need you but not if you keep teaching about, reporting for, and voting for socialism.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Amongst many things not to trust Iran on
"The United States' foreign policy must be clear eyed and understand that until the form of government changes in Iran, it is unlikely that their intentions toward Israel will change."
At least Bush wasn’t a blame-gamer. soetoro blames Bush for everything that goes south. obamacare not working? Bush’s fault. But he can pin a medal on a soldier, then boast to the press about “his” armed forces.
