Don’t forget Facebook. That place is all about hooking-up with a bunch of like-minded drones and reinforcing your common belief that you’re all victims.
I’ve been noticing this for a while now. People want to be victims, and if they’re not victims, they will do something to make themselves victims. (Like getting a bunch of tattoos that other people stare at or disapprove of.) Then they will self-righteously preach and lecture others that, “You’re not treating me right; you’re victimizing me.”
Like what happened to medical care.
Let’s see a breakout of students pursuing academically difficult subjects vs political “science”, sociology, “studies” studies, etc and how each believes.
I know what real physics/engineering/math students think about the pseudo science of glow-bull warming.
And I don’t really believe the other half has ever been required to think at all.
Stan, let me stop you here. You are ignoring/overlooking the obvious - These kids have recently completed 12 long years of liberal indoctrination into these topics and many of them are smart enough to not believe it. That puts them into conflict with themselves.
On the one hand, they've been taught for 12 years that global warming bad; all manmade. On the other hand, something in their gut tells them that the whole AGW argument doesn't make sense, but they don't know where to look for the answers they are seeking.
So, of course they drink!! It is the accepted American way of solving all of our problems!
(BTW, compare their behavior with that of the Russians under communism and their consumption of Vodka. Do you see the correlation?)
There is power in victimhood.
And if you aren’t black, female, gay, or some other class which can claim victim status, try atheism.
Believe it or not, there are young people out there that use the “coming out” phrase to describe their admission of atheism to their families.
A great way to assume the mantle of the oppressed.
This is what happens when you remove God from the equasion. Instead of being thankful for the incredible blessing He has given, it is replaced by guilt, angst, and depression. We should use what God has blessed us with to promote His love instead of feeling guilty about it!
I’m currently working my way out of a hole so I pray I can do just that!
A very interesting theory and one that, at first glance, makes sense out of nonsense to me. If the identification and glorification of victims is held up to the young as the purpose of life, then it makes a certain sense they would seek to be victims, themselves.

It isn’t the poor and downtrodden who are protesting global warming. It is the Leftist elites, the college students, the intellectuals, the bureaucrats and other government leeches, and the grant-seeking academics.
