Freshman Sen. Ted Cruz, who has led the tea party wing of Republicans in Congress in their effort to defund Obamacare, is an intelligent and principled debater, says his old Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz.
Appearing Tuesday on CNN's "Piers Morgan Live," Dershowitz called the Texas Republican "one of the sharpest students I had, in terms of analytic skills. I've had 10,000 students over my 50 years at Harvard . . . He has to qualify among the brightest of the students."

Yes-—he is “fair” on occasion but he is so flawed to believe in Socialism/Marxism. I always wondered how he can be logical/reasonable sometimes and literally see the truth at time-—like the brilliance of a Ted Cruz-— and absolutely STUPID at other times.
But then marxists/socialists are irrational. Suppose they can be “right” on occasion like a broken clock.
I have exchanged emails with Dershowitz. He is his own man and does not speak or write using liberal talking points.
He asked me to stay after class. I thought uh-oh! To my utter surprise, he congratulated me for taking the time to be well-informed on the topic and engage in an intelligent and engaging debate. I got an A in the class even though our political viewpoints were polar opposites.

Dershowitz speaks his mind. He was sincere.

On that we agree, Americans who voted for Obama don’t deserve a great and impassioned leader like Cruz. But we who still believe in liberty need him.

Agree or disagree Dershowitz says what he means and means what he says, without giving a rat’s a** if it’s PC or not. I gotta respect that.
There was a time not long ago that Dershowitz represented the far Left. Boy, how times have changed.

Yup, Dershowitz also defended George Zimmerman claiming he was entitled to a defamation case against his prosecutor, Angela Corey.
