But this was not a concession to Republicans, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Wednesday.

“It’s, you know, it is, frankly, a bit of a fig leaf, which we were happy to give, but that was not a negotiation. That was not what Ted Cruz and the others started to demand that we give them.” …

Dear Chuck....You think the vets still love you??

And so far, we've heard nothing but bad things about Obamacare.

And as a reminder, Excellus of New York State has dropped it's Medicaid policies....about 100,000 New Yorkers.

Good thing for the GOPe’s like Boner and McConnell that the tiny fig leaf is ample enough to cover their pathetic manhoods....

A fig leaf? I think the Republicans, with a few exceptions got a fig tree shoved up where the sun don’t shine.

Chuckie’s statment just weakens the position of the establishment Repubs like Boehner and McCain because it confirms everything the Tea Party has been saying. The GOPe crowd is willing to give the Dems everything they want and get nothing in return. When push comes to shove they will always fold. Schumer isn’t that bright and crowing like this only helps the Tea Pary in the long run by vindicating everything they’ve been saying.

“[Income verification in order to qualify for subsidies], you know, it is, frankly, a bit of a fig leaf...

It is very seldom that I find myself nodding in agreement with the senior senator from New York; but it is very hard to avoid doing so here...

When My congressman chooses to side with the people who didn't vote for him he made it completely clear that the gop does not represent my views. He in essence threw away his base of voters.

I read today that negotiations over an (gasp) ACTUAL BUDGET were part of that “fig leaf”. The battle continues.

And the good news is, with the blatant defeat of the GOP, the TEA Party becomes the more viable alternative.
