Rep. Steve Cohen: Tea Party Republicans 'Domestic Enemies' We Took Oath To Defend Against
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 10/19/2013 8:05:12 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Watch out, Alan Grayson: you've got competition when it comes to uttering the ugliest slur on Tea Party Republicans . . .

Sure, you've compared them to the Klan. But fellow Dem Steve Cohen has upped the ante. On Steve Kornacki's MSNBC show this morning, Cohen called Tea Party members of congress: "domestic enemies" that congressmen have taken an oath to defend the country against. Kornacki didn't challenge Cohen's libel, managing only to feebly observe that Cohen sounded "pessimistic." Think of it: a congressman has just accused many of his colleagues of treason, and the most you can muster is to call him "pessimistic"?

I've come to hate this country so much I almost hope the liberals get their way, control of the House and Senate, the Courts and the media.

I have no children so I don't give a f*ck anymore.

Let their offspring suffer. The beginning is the $53,000 debt each and every Liberal's child owes to China and other US "Investors."

It's only going to get worse.

No...the Congressional Progressive Caucus are the ones you took an oath to fight.

They are Communists. And many admit it

I see where moron.org and other lefty-dingbats are demanding sedition charges against some Republican Congressmen..

Once again I say (the scroll bar is right over there -->) the left is moving rapidly to initiate a Great Sedition Trial of 2014 that matches what FDR tried to do to opponents with the Great Sedition Trial of 1944.

FDR failed. Obama might succeed the Establishment today is arguably aging 1960s New Left Marxist-Alinsky radical, campus spoiled brats and their ideological issue. The Establishment in FDR's days did not go along and eventually stopped:

". . . one of the blackest marks on the record of American jurisprudence. In the legal world, none can recall a case where so many Americans were brought to trial for political persecution and were so arrogantly denied the rights [guaranteed] an American citizen under the Constitution.”

The radical, campus spoiled brats will praise Obama one of their own. The most enthusiastic among them will be the employees of the MSM.

Yes FDR DoJ included a couple of known members of the Bund along with the citizens falsely accused but that was strickly to smear the citizens in the eyes of the public.

Well, Democrats are communists, socialists, and fascists. I think they’re the “domestic enemies” we swore to defend America from.

The left would like us to believe a scale of government has communism on the far left and fascism on the far right. That’s not so. The scale of government has statists on the left and liberty on the right. Fascism, communism, and socialism are all big government, totalitarian ideologies. The GOPe is center left on this scale, because they always vote to increase the power and scope of government.

On the right, you have conservatives, libertarians, and anarchists. Conservatives, as my tagline notes, are not anarchists. We want less government, not no government.

What about the Tea Party? For one thing, it doesn’t even exist. There is no “Tea Party.” At best, the “Tea Party” is a very loose collection of Americans with similar small government views of liberty, self reliance, and morality. It could include everything from people who want lower taxes to people who want to roll the federal government back to its constitutional boundaries.

I guess the left is focused on attacking the “Tea Party” (even though it doesn’t exist as a political party or formal organization) simply because they have nothing else to call us. In order to attack the amorphous blob of like-minded people on the right, you have to call them something. You can’t even use the word “conservatives,” because most of the GOPe (wrongly) claims to be the true conservatives. I guess that means they want to conserve big government as usual.

There's a lot of this and other blonds when you do an Image search on google. He really enjoy his taxpayer-funded lifestyle.

I bet he'd sell out the Country to keep what he's got going.

Yes, eventually they will have to put up or shut up. It is all coordinated by the White House. If you can criminalize you opposition in the minds of a majority, you can “fundamentally transform” the nature of American politics.

I talked to a former OWS type the other day who says she realized that what the Occupy Wall Street crowd wants, it already has and its a disaster. She now thinks the small government tea party / libertarian ideals might make more sense.

I pushed her on it and suggested keeping taxation and control local might make her happier.

Let us be separate then.

I have no more desire to be bound to tyrants to like Rep. Steve Cohen & the thieving voters of his district than he does to me & mine.

The peace, happiness, and “general welfare” of our people would be best served by going out separate ways while we still can in peace.

Somebody should ask Rep. Steve Cohen and all other democrats why their president Obama was threatening not to spend 1/10th of the shutdown revenue paying the interest on our debt. (thus defaulting)

This question should be repeated to every democrat we see on a public form, to hammer in the fact that it was an Obama manufactured crisis.

Sounds like he’s just repeating something he’s heard a conservative say, and turning it around.

That's exactly right. And when the Republicans start doing something that is good (like not raising the debt ceiling or funding ObamaCare) and then cave and help the liberals get their way, it provides credibility to statements like this. The Republicans have *got* to learn to HOLD THE D*MN LINE. Otherwise ...

Cohen survives and thrives because he has one of the poorest constituencies in the nation, inner city Memphis, Tn. and for him the lie is always more practical than the truth.

Beware of the Obama Administration security efforts:

They vet the enemy and he is us.

Start defending then. On second thought, I guess you did get started when you siced your goons, a/k/a Park Service Rangers on the World war II vets and abused and publically humiliated them. And to the everlasting shame of the other Conservatives there, they did nothing to stop it. In fact, one of a group of Rangers was photographed bowed up with his hand on his pistol.

If Dems were really serious about defending against domestic enemies, they would all commit suicide ASAP. It would also bolster their stance on minimizing human damage to Mother Earth.
