Families USA Receives $1 Million Grant to Tell Pro-ObamaCare Stories
TIME ^ | October 25, 2013 | by Alex Rogers

Families USA has received a $1 million grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which it will use to collect and distribute to the media personal stories of those who have benefited from the new health insurance exchange rolled out by the Obama Administration October 1. The announcement is good news for the President, who has been widely criticized for the horrible launch of the online marketplace healthcare.gov.

“The purpose is to bridge the information gap for people who can significantly benefit from the Affordable Care Act,” Ron Pollack, the Executive Director of Families USA, tells TIME. “Too many people who can benefit enormously are unaware of it.”

The unsolicited donation will “significantly expand” the story bank, which is already over 950 strong, Pollack says, and allow the organization and its partner GMMB, a communications firm, to hire six new positions in Washington, DC. Pollack says that Families USA will be providing new stories for the media and others who are interested “before the month is over.” “We have a bunch of stories that are in the hopper for vetting,” adds Pollack.

So where are the rich conservatives donating money to tell the horror stories of Obamacare?

I heard today on radio, 300,000 folks in Florida got cancellation notices from their previous insurance companies.

And this folks is how we suck at messaging.....and how we lose elections.

Indeed he would. 300,000,000+ in this nation and they have a story bank of 950.

I predict that this holiday season every family will be discussing Obamacare.
Liberal family members will get an earful that they will not be able to defend.

That's amazing - they have testimonials from every person who successfully navigated the process!

What a waste of money! Why pay someone to do what the media does for free?

Why put a positive spin on a program people will be required to participate in?

The "success stories" will be meaningless to people who will be getting screwed by ACA. Do they really think families who are going to pay out the nose will be gratified that Josephine or Nathan is getting low cost or free insurance?

The only thing the ads will do is attract more of the "needy." And tick off those who are paying for it.

It’s only overblown unless it was YOU who were cancelled and then found out a replacement policy cost double, had triple the out-of-pocket cost, and had a doctor/hospital network that made Medicaid look good.

If you want to see non-propanda reporting on rate shock, check out:

There’s a totally different conclusion there.
