Carson doesn’t even understand the 2nd amendment. He wants selective gun zones.

Why would we want to support someone who is pro-amnesty and doesn’t understand the 2nd amendment?

ummm, I wasn’t talking about the democrat candidate vetting process

I was talking about who the GOP selects as a candidate.

We have our own standards....pal

sure, Cruz is “tested”

as a lawyer, law professor, minor league Bush43 admin FTC and domestic policy advisor, and now 1st term Senator

You may like his politics a whole lot better and unlike obama he is brilliant

but on paper, he’s not much more experienced than was Obama

no military service, no foreign policy experience. He’s got at least another 10 years to go to live a life with some real crisis management experience

I remember a whole bunch of freepers getting moist eyed over Senator Scott Brown and Senator Marco Rubio and a pizza magnate

If Cruz’ last name was Smith we wouldn’t be talking about him as a pres candidate, not yet

Is Frank Luntz really a campaign consultant like Rove?

I thought he just put together fake panels of "independants" to gauge voter sentiment........

I thought I read in CEW’s book that he doubles as Rove’s ‘beard’ .... (takes the hairpiece off his head and puts it on his chin!)

I think you must have misread that.

Rove's more likely to win "America's Got Talent When It Buys Lottery Tickets" than ever have a beard OR a hairpiece..........

Check your facts. Mittens got almost a million more votes in 2012 than McQueeg got in 2008.

Yes, we would. because he is the only one out there showing some conservative spine.

We don't care about their name or skin color here. Maybe you haven't noticed but we have principles and core values that do not change and we are tired of supporting candidates where we have to "compromise" them.

The "moderates" and the GOPe might put a lot of stock in names and skin color but they don't matter a hill of beans to most of us on this forum.

A Senator standing up for conservative principles is going to get our attention, even if his last name is Smith, Jones or Mergatroid. Even if he is an albino or deep purple. And when it seems he is the ONLY one in DC who stands up for them, we cheer and yes, talk about the White House.

If you think its an idle day dream, say it. I remember ridiculing starry eyed freepers proposing Scott Brown for President before he was even a Senator-elect. Others might recall I didn't like the guy at all, he gave me bad vibes from the start (his opponent was the spawn of Satan though)

But when you start trying to make a subtle reference to racism by saying he wouldn't be thought of like that if his name was Smith, know that you are dead WRONG.

Cruz already had a stellar reputation before he went to the Senate. The difference between him and Brown & Rubio is rather stark (although Rubio is a bit closer).

Brown was considered a star solely for winning a Senate seat in a rough state, but his ideology was always suspect and he proved to be utterly incapable of defeating a sociopathic liar.

Rubio was an enormous disappointment. He seemed like a potential star when he was FL House Speaker and embraced the Conservative agenda. His defeat of the establishment liberal Governor Crist also elevated his profile. But it was short-lived as he went and embraced the same corrupt establishment that he ran against. The media, of course, will pimp his candidacy because of that, calling him “mainstream.” Since he is also up for reelection in 2016 and Col. West is making rumblings about challenging him, I consider his defeat a paramount concern for that year. Traitorous RINOs deserve no other end.

I remember a whole bunch of freepers getting moist eyed over Senator Scott Brown and Senator Marco Rubio and a pizza magnate

And most of us who did our research, knew from the start that there were definite problems with both.

Most of us who have done our research on Senator Cruz have come to the exact opposite conclusion.
