Big-time Obama bundler bankrolling Libertarian in Virginia gubernatorial race.
redstate.com ^ | 11/5/13 | Moe Lane

A major Democratic Party benefactor and Obama campaign bundler helped pay for professional petition circulators responsible for getting Virginia Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Robert C. Sarvis on the ballot — a move that could split conservative votes in a tight race.

Campaign finance records show the Libertarian Booster PAC has made the largest independent contribution to Sarvis’ campaign, helping to pay for professional petition circulators who collected signatures necessary to get Sarvis’ name on Tuesday’s statewide ballot.

Austin, Texas, software billionaire Joe Liemandt is the Libertarian Booster PAC’s major benefactor. He’s also a top bundler for President Barack Obama.

So why is an Obama supporter pumping up a third party candidate in a close race? Three possible reasons: 1.Because he knows that Libertarian candidates tend to suck more votes away from Republican candidates. 2.Because he knows that you can’t really get libertarians to form a long-term alliance with liberals; the two groups disagree far too much on tactics. 3.Because Joe Liemandt wants the Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe to win. Note that ‘pick any two’ or ‘all of the above’ also work, as answers.

Anyway: iIf you haven’t voted in Virginia today: vote for Ken Cuccinelli, and the rest of the GOP ticket. Because if you think that Robert Sarvis is an acceptable alternative, here’s a clue: so does the Democratic party. And they will laugh in your face if they get power… and then the Democrats will do things that you hate. Simply to spite you.

As Obamacare is demonstrating now, they like to do that. Why do you think that rural Obamacare exchange networks are worse under their system than urban ones are?

A good example of how third parties contribute to Democrat victories.

Yes. I saw the Clinton guy has 46% in the polls at most.

Vote splitting like this is stupid and we see that it is Dem operatives funding the spoiler.

Is it time to call for a five minute hate against George Soros? If ever a character sprang to life from the pages of “1984”, it is George Soros as Emmanuel Goldstein.

Goldstein is full of “clap trap” when he spouts oratory about “freedom of speech, freedom of the Press, freedom of assembly, and freedom of thought”. His revolution for “a new and better life” for the proles means, in reality, their enslavement and death.

Of course this is deliberate and planned out! This 3rd party candidate is necessary for McAuliffe to win.

Cuccinelli is the choice of the REAL Virginians. Their state is being taken over by the socialist transplants and spillage from DC and that will change the direction of that beautiful state forever to the left.

McAuliffe is NOT the choice of homegrown, traditional Virginians who have values and the love of freedom.

This is this is their MO for close races. Exactly what they did to get Harry Reid back in the senate.

What about the libertarian candidate?

He’s the one taking the funding and running with it.

Those voting machines and all.

It's a Republican SoS.

If there's fraud, we got nobody to blame but Republicans for not rooting it out

I keep posting here that the Dems WILL eventually start doing this everywhere if they haven’t already. And the ONLY solution is to pass some form of runoff voting so that no candidate is allowed to be declared the winner until they get over 50% of the vote. You can have an actual runoff (expensive) or a special instant-runoff vote (which is cheaper but tougher to explain to people). Anywhere runoff voting doesn’t exist, the Dems will be able to fund the libertarian and steal every election. And if you don’t make runoff voting the law while you have the chance, you will never get the chance again once the Dems take power everywhere by funding libertarians to split the conservative vote.

It is strange that having 2 liberals on a ballot splits the conservative vote.

I thought Libertarian candidates suck votes away from both parties, essentially making it a wash.

Liberaltarians only take votes from Republicans, Greens only take them from the Dems.

Shocker... NOT. This RAT tactic predicted right here.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3082198/posts?page=8#8

If your a RAT in a tight race, contribute some big bucks to a 3rd party candidate to siphon off votes from the GOP candidate and the Stoopid Party candidate loses again.

That is a Good thing, keep the rino’s honest; maybe the rino’s will start to act like true constitutional conservatives then; instead of the tax raising neo-coms (misspelling intentional) that are now in Virginia. The Republican candidate for governor nullified the nullification of Obama care by asking the supreme court permission to nullify a law. He is either ignorant of the constitution or intentionally scuppered the nullification; so I believe he deserves to loose. Ken Cuccinelli started as a darling of the Tea Part and morphed into a establishment neo-com. Sorry KEN I used to support you but you sold us down river.
