'Purge surge': Obama fires another commander
World Net Daily ^ | F. Michael Maloof

Posted on 11/05/2013 9:19:14 AM PST by rarestia

After multiple top generals described to WND what they regard as a full-scale “purge” of the U.S. military by the Obama administration, the commander of U.S. Army Garrison Japan was summarily relieved of duty and his civilian deputy reassigned, pending a “misconduct” investigation.

Nine generals and flag officers have been relieved of duty under Obama just this year – widely viewed as an extraordinary number – and several sources put the total number of senior officers purged during the five years of the Obama administration as close to 200.

In response, prominent retired generals – ranging from Army Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely, a Fox News senior military analyst, to Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin, a founder of the Army’s elite Delta Force, to Medal of Honor recipient Maj. Gen. Patrick Henry Brady – have all gone on the record with WND, characterizing Obama’s actions as nothing less than an all-out attack on America’s armed forces.

According to U.S. Army Japan, Col. Eric Tilley was suspended from his job by Maj. Gen. James C. Boozer Sr., commander of U.S. Army Japan and I Corps (Forward) for a “lack of confidence” based on the results of an inquiry.

A spokesman for U.S. Army Japan, Maj. Kevin Toner, would not elaborate on what prompted a “lack of confidence,” saying it would be “inappropriate to make public the allegations because the investigation did not lead to findings of criminal misconduct.”

Tilley is to be replaced by Col. Joy Curriera.

I think we should be concerned with date:

Remember, Remember the 5th of November

Like a petty tyrant, Obama won't be happy until rainbow troops of his making are in full salute to him.

Well said and I know this to be true. My beloved Son in Law was fighting in Iraq but my daughter lived in Ft. Carson. My daughter told me that any miscue would reflect on him.
I never wear my seatbelt but I always did when I rode in her car on base

In situation like this, a base CO being collateral damage (rightfully or not) in this situation is not a surprise. Not a purge.

Agreed. When I was on active duty, we had Nike-Hercules batteries at remote sites in Germany. Any unit that failed a Nuclear Surety Inspection likely saw the immediate, and complete turnover of the chain of command, up to group/brigade level.

That meant the battery's officers (5-7), battalion commander and xo (LTC & Major), and Group Commander (Colonel).

Made me thankful to be in a short range ADA unit.

Yep, you are either knew about it and didn’t make e right decision, or you didn’t know about it and you are too stupid to be in charge.

“Bush should have done this when he first took over from Clinton.”

Didn’t Bush get torched relentlessly for firing 8 US attorneys?
Clinton fired all 93 without a peep from the press.

A failure on an inspection is one thing. Anything nuclear means you are always on the chopping block.

Being responsible for a subordinate committing a crime in private is another.

There was a string of COs that got canned for the condition of the USS Kennedy. The unfair part of that is that the Mavy cancelled a couple yard periods so the ship was in horrible shape.

Idi Amin OMugabe is just following the footsteps that his *hero* Comrade Stalin took with the soviet military of the 1930's -- purging it of any and/or all commanders who may threaten his illegal rule and dictates.

Hopefully Iran, or North Korea won't take advantage of our decimated military like Adolph did and attack us. If they do we're screwed big time, it's; The End.

There's no doubt in my mind that son-of-a-bi..h would surrender. He'll cut a deal where he stays in power working for his Marxist-Muslim 'masters'.

Agree with your entire post.

Unfair though it may be, it gets back to the credo of being in command, something most politicians will never understand:

Whatever my unit does, or fails to do, is my responsibility.

Similar to saying, "if you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance...PERIOD!"

The only difference in this purging and most other dictator’s actions is Zer0 isn’t executing them.
Zer0 is getting rid of any commanders he deems not loyal to him.

I don't think there's any great problem of Iran or North Korea attacking us. The problem is what they may do in their own back yards if they think we won't act.

With regard to Iran, they have enough problems on its hand trying to keep the Syrian president in power and to consolidate their newly won influence in Iraq. Any serious efforts by Iran to cause trouble in the Middle East outside the Lebanon-Syria-Iraq nexus will result in a regional war with Sunni nations like Saudi Arabia.

Having Muslim nations fight each other won't be good for Israel, but Israel has proven its ability to take care of themselves even if we abandon them. Having Israel no longer under American control, and free to do what needs to be done, might even be a good thing.

Likewise, if North Korea isn't afraid of us, they might consider attacking the South, but I can't see them attacking Americans other than American troops in South Korea. As with Israel, I have a lot more confidence in the South Korean political and military backbone than I do of ours in the United States right now.

An unleashed South Korea without American vetoes might well lead to a regional war and reunification of the Korean peninsula, if China doesn't get too upset.

What I think we **REALLY** need to be concerned about is not Iran or North Korea, but rather what China will do if they decided to ignore President Obama.

Obama ought to be afraid of that, too. Unlike our president, the Chinese actually seem to understand capitalism and what it can do, having seen firsthand the failure of Communism.

In the long term, the rising power of China may well be good for the free market and spell the end of socialist experiments in Europe and America.

Capitalism works. Communism doesn't. Obama needs to learn that — quickly — and figure out that the Chinese have changed greatly since the days of Mao.

That was the problem. They will find a way to torch you regardless. Do what makes the most sense and remove those political hacks before they do more damage.
