The question needs to be rephrased, “Can Virginia force their doctors to move to other states?”

LOL. Medicare will have to start actually paying on claims if it expects to try this!

If they do will they also deny them the option to move to another state.

Just what I want when I need a doctor - one who has been forced to treat me.

... force doctors to stay in the state and practice ... and call it a “tax.”

I take it your friend has never been left to the tender mercies of the medical equivalent of a public defender. The experience would probably be akin to the doctor handing him Japanese ceremonial suicide sword.

It was the same one who said “well state law says you have to buy auto insurance” - and I left it at that. And no, she’s not blond.

Will MD’s even be permitted to leave states, where their enslavement is MANDATED? Maybe they will be required to work until age 80, too?

If they do will they also deny them the option to move to another state.

Possibly by making it impossible to obtain the license to practice in the other state (except when the government actually wants to migrate physicians then there will be all kinds of taxpayer-paid incentives)..

Doctors should be honored to be slaves of the state.

I currently have three doctors I visit and all of them are for single payer, they would be happy I guess.

I guess we could always have an emergency draft and militarize the medical profession, that should make it easy.

Will probably end up like other national health care services where the patient is encourage to learn foreign languages, increase understanding of broken English, or excel in technical medical sign language.

Similarly, the educated elite in Russia were ecstatic when they learned the Bolsheviks had won the revolution but were devastated when they had to live under their rule .... many have to learn the hard way.

There will be plenty of doctors. They’re being trained at VA Hospitals all over the country. The ones I’ve dealt with are from Africa.

Drs connot be forced to see anyone. What these folks forget is that for the most part docs are fairly resourceful individuals. Choices include moving, retiring, or finding another way to earn a living. I personally will chose any of the above before I will be dictated to by government flunkies.....

a dr at my hospital said just that....that eventually it'll be like England and the drs will be forced to accept a certain number of charity cases no matter what...

he said that pretty soon the imbalance is so off that he'll be the one paying to see patients....

sadly, he's from Canada......thought he was coming to the good ol paradise of the USA....
