The uninsured apparently never CARED that they were uninsured.

A huge, disruptive solution for something that was apparently never a problem in the first place.

Well, the solution here is OBVIOUS to any Socialist Democrat.

INCREASE THE FINES!! (but exempt our voting groups from them.)

I was insured under an individual catastrophic plan that got cancelled and the 3 optional replacement plans I was offered were ridiculously expensive for what amounted to no coverage.

I told them to pound sand and I'll be running naked from 12/31/13 forward.

If that means just not filing tax returns from that point, so be it.

This was all for a vocal minority who had pre-existing conditions and couldn't get health insurance.

Instead of looking for a free market solution, the Democrats used this 'crises' as an excuse to destroy the Health insurance business and gain control over millions of Americans via the IRS.

It’s the same with illegals. Very few of them want to become citizens.

As for the 22% signing up, how many of those are Medicaid.

I guess the problem was perceived as it being too expensive to foot the bill for the uninsured. I now believe that they really felt it wasn't expensive enough to foot the bill. They will continue to be treated and everyone pays out the nose/ass/spleen to keep the status quo.

They still get services——they just go to the emergency rooms & the Federal law says none of the hospitals can turn them away for lack of insurance or lack of any payment of any kind.

The trauma section of the Northridge Hospital in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles closed because they were going completely broke treating the gunshot wounds & stabbings of the ever-increasing gang members.

When I lived about 8 blocks from that hospital, the trauma section was declared the best in the entire county. Now, it is closed down completely. Therefore, even those with insurance cannot get their excellent services.
