Full Title: Policy keeping girls off boys' wrestling team prevents 'undesired contact of sensual body parts,' says Line Mountain High School
WILLIAMSPORT The prospect of co-ed wrestling presents dilemmas, such as how an adult male coach demonstrates techniques on a middle school-aged female, the Line Mountain School District claims.
That is one of the arguments the Northumberland County school district makes in urging U.S. Middle District Judge Matthew W. Brann not to make permanent the order he issued Oct. 31 that allowed a seventh-grade girl identified only as A.B. to sign up for the middle school wrestling team.
The district has a policy that prohibits boy and girls from being on the same team in a contact sport.
Due to the continual close contact involved in wrestling, the sport warrants a separation between male and females, especially when the individuals reach the age of puberty, the district states in a brief filed with the court.

Your opinion. Means little.
If you read through these posts, you can read about female state high school wrestling champions.
Even if your point were true and even if it were valid, it doesn’t give a reason why a girl that wants to wrestle shouldn’t be allowed to wrestle.
Boys and their development shouldn’t be exploited for those couple years when the females can be equal to them, before everyone’s hormones develop, that always struck me as victimizing the boys in a weird psychological way, something that they wouldn’t exploit during a short window with the female sex.
girls don’t wrestle....... amazons wrestle
Takes one to know one you Alinskyite faggot.
If you want to discuss issues on their merits bring it on. If you want to try insult after insult without any attempt at legitimate debate, you are worthless.
Go to DU. Then got to Hell. You weak minded piece of garbage.
I see you're speaking to the man in the mirror again.
If I had to wrestle, I’d rather it be a girl....
She will learn reality when the testosterone hits the boys.
All I can figure is that these knuckleheads have never been to a wrestling match.
Woody because the guy is wrestling a girl? Come on.
I doubt my son would even remember which match was against the girl!
Just arms legs and a body that wants to beat him. And I doubt that changes too much as wrestlers get older.
Some people get their panties all in a wad over the stupidest things.
Ya huh.
“If girls are competitive in the lower weight classes but not in the higher ones, so what.”
The “so what” is that, for adult males, their muscles are pound for pound stronger than those of a woman. That doesn’t mean they could never beat a guy wrestling, but it says to me that, as muscle mass becomes a bigger factor (say, after puberty, and as you go up in weigh classes), the chances of women being competitive are going to get real slim.
I think it’s an entirely different situation than just trying to slim down to get into the lower weight class. The guys are trying to maximize their potential, whatever their size, while women wrestling with men are just going to have to hope they are small enough to stay in the weight classes where they have a chance, otherwise they are out of luck.
Tell that to the State Champion girl wrestlers that wrestle in college.
If they want to wrestle until they can’t win anymore, why keep them from it?
There was a very pretty girl on the wrestling team at the largest high school in Arizona a few years ago. The coach was caught with her in a van in the dark doing something that wasn’t wrestling on the other side of town. He is in his late 40s or even 50s. It seems like that happened during the summer because I remember my boys shaking their heads and talking about it with another coach who was shocked. I think the wrestling coach worked as a security officer at the school as well as being the wrestling coach. It seems like the security persons were susceptible to these girls attaching themselves to them. :(
Actually, not exactly true. Usually the girls are in the lighter weight categories.
Could be kind of fun to see a 300 lb girl wrestle super heavyweight though!
I think some of these yahoos have been watching too much TV. What a joke.
Oh, I am all for it. Just like the woman Marines who cannot make it through combat courses they will learn that they are women not men. It looks good on TV and in the Sensitivity Training Syllabus. However, reality dictates.
those parents would sue if their girl got hurt.
also if she felt she got touched inappropriately.
good grief. let common sense prevail.
they wear cups. you’d see the turtle poke out of the shell, is what you’d see.
