Health insurance companies are crying foul over new measures President Obama announced Thursday as a political tweak to his fast-disintegrating Affordable Care Act, making the fix potentially worse than the problem.
'This whole thing it's a mess,' an insurance company official told MailOnline, speaking on background. 'With six weeks left before New Year's, I don't know how the White House expects us to fix what's already happened.'
Obama 'kind of threw us under the bus today,' one of the regulators told The New York Times.
'The presidents "administrative fix" is an attempt to create a lifeboat for ObamaCare to get his party through the 2014-midterm elections,' said South Carolina Republican Rep. Jeff Duncan. 'The presidents actions appear to be unconstitutional.'
Obama's new plan, the insurance companies fret, won't magically fix things for the estimated 5 million people who are already affected.
And some in the industry believe that Obama is setting them up to be the fall guys if the latest flavor-of-the-month tweak to Obamacare sours.

To reinstate policies that fail to satisfy the letter of the law...
It's not a lifeboat, it's the SS Minnow of Gilligan’s Island.
‘The presidents actions appear to be unconstitutional.’
Um...pretty much from Day One, don’t you agree? *Rolleyes*
the legal issues will be incredible.

Ayn Rand would be cackling if she were still alive.
If I were the Pres , my specter muscle would be so tight right now I wouldn’t be able to poop for a month. But then I care.
Getting pretty crowded under there.
Well...I’m glad to see they “get it”. How they react in the long run will be interesting.
I’m not pro-insurance industry by any means...there are good and bad. But they had to comply with the law. And then had to cover the cost of pre-x, no annual yearly or life time cap and “kids” on the parents policy until they are 27 and extra coverage mandates.
What company isn’t going to try to cover those cost by raising prices?
Your tagline is great :-)

My story.
Good point. Not my point, but good point. ;-)
That’s been in my Photobucket for a few years.
Thanks for the opportunity to use it
“What company isnt going to try to cover those cost by raising prices?”
While we haven’t raised prices...yet...scheduling is already a nightmare and we just got the OK to hire more part-time people so we have staff that only work 29 hours a week each, at best.
It really sucks to be ‘Management’ these days. I mean, we’re already hated as it is, LOL!
When you lie down with dogs you get fleas.
The insurers should say no you have to unplug the entire fiasco.
