PATHETIC......JUST PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!
The real piece of information in this story is that apparently Cruise didn’t even say it. So what’s the big f***ing deal.
He wants to ban guns. In his youth, he and his friends beat a man they robbed so badly they left him blind. You can see why he wouldn't want the man on the street to be able to protect himself against predators.
Marky mark was such a tough street robber that his M.O. victim was old Vietnamese guys with really slight frames, hobbling along on canes.
Reeeeal tough, that Marky Mark.
America demands Justice for the Fallen of Benghazi! |
And who did Marky Mark last vote for?
Who does he support in 2016?
Just curious, of course.
I have watched some of the training on TV and I will say that it is a wonder any of them make it through.
One thing I did notice in the Ranger training is the trainers did not seem to be orally brutalizing them. They were putting them through such difficult training that it probably made no difference.
I do recall the training which a German/French waffen SS group went through. They were situated in a beautiful castle in a gorgeous forest. Their training was really brutal but their officers did not berate them or scream at them like they did in the WWI novel “All Quiet on the Western Front”. I think one could even call the trainers as being kind to them but they did have to do the work and it was brutal. These men fought as well as any I have heard of.
They were the famed Charlemagne Division.
Gotta say I never thought much of Wahlberg until I saw his ads for the Wounded Warrior Project - not just your average pretty face-empty headed Hollywood personality....
***...and Cruise didnt actually make the comparison: an attorney made the suggestion, and as TMZ later reported, Cruise said, Oh come on.***
????? Somebody better tell FOX -

Posted right here on FR last week as reported by FOX - sloppy journalism by FOX?
Go watch The Shooter -- which is about as left-wing nutjob a conspiracy movie as you will ever see -- with veiled references to Bush, and not very veiled references to Cheney, then come back and tell me how three minutes of sanctimonious overheated sucking up in order to boost his film cred/audience appeal makes up for that and all of the other leftard causes he supports.
My son’s done that. STFU!
Wahlberg was A-OK in my book even before all of this. Hopefully Hollywood doesn’t feel a need to retalliate.
Wahlberg just went up a couple notches in my book.
Is Wahlberg himself a veteran? Just curious, that wouldn’t make his comments any more or less true, they stand alone.
My pet peeve though: from my heart I wish that God was back in our armed services other than being some proverbial entity whose last name is Damn.
It used to be well understood that purity of heart and courage and joy and dug-in determination went together. Then somehow we got the idea that cursing (and degrading talk about the bodies that God made) was the way of power and strength.
That’s just wrong. Anything the devil can pretend to do, God can actually do, and of course will do it far better. Also that put a saner perspective on war. It isn’t for naught that US conquests have been waged with the clear objective of bettering the conditions on the ground, not just leaving a smoking enemy. Even in the Gulf War the US was spoken of as having waged war “like a god.”
If the latest adventures in Islamic territory have fared so poorly, it is because to take hold, they would have required Islam (especially its militant flavors) to be supplanted by a more gospel-friendly philosophy. Which is a very tough thing to do.
Lone Survivor is an excellent book and well worth the read.
Nice speech, but in the end, he’s still Hollywood
Wahlberg had been in trouble 2025 times with the Boston Police Department in his youth. By age 13, Wahlberg had developed an addiction to cocaine and other substances.
At fifteen, he harassed a group of black school children on a field trip by throwing rocks and shouting racial epithets.
At 16, Wahlberg approached a middle-aged Vietnamese man on the street and, using a large wooden stick, knocked him unconscious (while calling him “Vietnam fucking shit”). He also attacked another Vietnamese man, leaving him permanently blind in one eye.
For these crimes, Wahlberg was charged with attempted murder, pleaded guilty to assault, and was sentenced to two years in state prison at Boston’s Deer Island House of Correction, of which he served 45 days. In another incident, the 21-year-old Wahlberg fractured the jaw of a neighbor in an unprovoked attack.
Commenting in 2006 on his past crimes, Wahlberg has stated: “I did a lot of things that I regret, and I have certainly paid for my mistakes.” He said the right thing to do would be to try to find the blinded man and make amends, and admitted he has not done so, but added that he was no longer burdened by guilt: “You have to go and ask for forgiveness and it wasn’t until I really started doing good and doing right by other people, as well as myself, that I really started to feel that guilt go away. So I don’t have a problem going to sleep at night. I feel good when I wake up in the morning.”
Wahlberg’s brother was in Path to 9-11.
