The Army should use photos of average-looking women when it needs to illustrate stories about female soldiers, a specialist recommends images of women who are too pretty undermine the communications strategy about introducing them into combat roles.
Thats the gist of an internal Army e-mail an Army source shared with POLITICO.
In general, ugly women are perceived as competent while pretty women are perceived as having used their looks to get ahead, wrote Col. Lynette Arnhart, who is leading a team of analysts studying how best to integrate women into combat roles that have previously been closed off to them. She sent her message to give guidance to Army spokesmen and spokeswomen about how they should tell the press and public about the Armys integration of women.
There is a general tendency to select nice looking women when we select a photo to go with an article (where the article does not reference a specific person). It might behoove us to select more average looking women for our comms strategy. For example, the attached article shows a pretty woman, wearing make-up while on deployed duty. Such photos undermine the rest of the message (and may even make people ask if breaking a nail is considered hazardous duty), Arnhart said....

I can’t think of a single superpower military that ever did this.
In other words: dykes.
Yep
Soviet Russia in World War II because they had no choice. That’s it.
Five'll getcha ten.
I looked for a photo. Nada.
Nope. Homely dykes.
“...Col. Lynette Arnhart,...”
Yeah... I’d follow THAT O-6 into battle any day...
Not.
The comment about ‘breaking a nail’ reminded me of docking the USS Jouett (CG-29) in Pearl Harbor, HI. One of the female line handlers assigned suddenly dropped our line in the water and checked her nails; a contractor onboard yelled ‘Are your nails OK?’. She filed a complaint, but because it wasn’t a Sailor, it didn’t go anywhere. Good thing there were male line handlers to run over and take over where she failed.
(no one sees that comin' ?)
This "Colonel" needs to go back to analyzing something she's good at analyzing......like her belly button.
Looks like “she” is hovering around 50% body fat.
“Because we don’t want anybody to feel badly about themselves.” If you’re so precious and fragile that you get your feelings hurt because someone else is better looking than you you’re going to have a hell of a time dealing with someone who wants to shoot you or cut your head off.
#24 “Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of American life.”
Col. if you want to tell all those service women they
can’t wear make-up, better you than me.
The politicized military brass is turning the armed forces of the United States into homogenized homosexualized smooth inoffensive non-hydrogenated automotons that look alike, think alike, and take orders alike. Both sexes pushed towards sort of a weird medium breasted butch thing maybe even with a pecker.
People are PAID to come up with this stuff. PAID with tax dollars.
