A long report from Lansing television about a knock-out game victim who pulled out his legally carried .40 caliber handgun and shot the perp twice.
I’ll bet the perpetrator didn’t see that coming.
Cue the irate parents complaining in front of the cameras that “He be a good boy” and “They wuz no reason to shoot him” and “It be because he black.”
Great gun... is it a 9mm? I have a friend that bought the 9mm and he loves it. He just can’t part with it long enough to send his back. I have the .45 and I love it. I did install a Powder River Precision spring kit in it... and it makes the trigger about a 4lb pull... smooth take-up and crisp break. My grouping tightened up nicely when I installed it.

In The Hunt For Red October a Soviet skipper did what were called "Crazy Ivans"; suddenly circling back and reversing course to detect any trailers behind him. A pedestrian form of that tactic might be warranted when groups of black males are nearby.
Which state is that? I've heard of "shall issue" states, but I like the idea of a "shall carry" state!
;^)
Outstanding...Been waiting for this, it’s long overdue.
I bought my Wife the .45 XDs on her Birthday this year.
You really oughta send it back to Springfield, though. They highly recommend that it NOT be fired until the safety issue is upgraded. Turnaround time is better now that it’s been a while since it was issued, too.
The 'knockout game' is quintessentially lowlife stuff... it's a group targeting one innocent victim.
If you're paying attention to your surroundings and in general 'being aware' they'll chose a young man walking home from a rough day at work - or a woman with shopping bags. Lowlifes are cowards unless they're in a group - and even then they wouldn't like the odds of one aware person against the five or six of them. You're most likely, 'safe'. Sorry bout that...
I’ll call them. Thanks!
Springfield will also return the pistol with an extended magazine as a gift when they do the upgrade.
Cool! I will call them this morning.
BTTT and obligatory “more range time needed” post
Sorry for the delay to respond, years ago in Michigan, in order to obtain a CCW you first had to apply, take a course, then go before a committee consisting of the sheriff, state trooper, and prosecuting attorney. They had to vote 2/3 in your favor in order to be approved. The vast majority in Michigan we’re never approved until recently when we became a Shall Carry state. Now, you need only apply and complete a CCW course to be approved providing you do not have any DUIs, feloniies, etc. no more “gun board” to deep six your application.
