Time magazine calls the Affordable Care Act a "broken promise" on the cover of its latest issue. The image splits a pill with "Obamacare" inscribed on it in half, separating "Obama" and "care."
The cover story, by Nancy Gibbs, looks at how President Barack Obama needs to fix what has been a disastrous rollout of the federal health law — and fix it fast:
So the sign that the Obama presidency had reached a turning point came not when his poll numbers sank or his allies shuddered or the commentariat went hunting for the right degree of debacle to compare to the rollout of Obamacare.
It happened when he started apologizing. In triplicate. For not knowing what was going on in his own Administration. For failing to prevent his signature achievement from detonating in prime time. For not telling the whole truth when he promised people that Obamacare would not touch them without permission: "If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan."

Talking about talking dildos, I’d say, if ever there was a facsimile of a human dildo, I’d have to give you credit for the inspiration of.

They can't do either, now. At least not if conservatives (as opposed to "Republicans") keep this thing stirred up.
The fast fix can be dismissed out of hand. Healthcare.gov is the hub of ObamaCare. Remember those great diagrams laying out the complexity of ObamaCare? Well, in the center is "Secretary, HHS", but what's REALLY there in a functional sense, such as it is, is healthcare.gov. The site is integral to the whole thing. But... the website security problems are so insidious and built in from the ground up, that there is NO way to fix this quickly. Remember too, we are talking about half a BILLION lines of code, and at least 1/3 of the site isn't even completed yet. John McAfee, whatever you think of him otherwise, does know computer security, and he thinks the fastest thing to do is throw the whole site out and start over, requiring 2-3 years to get it rebuilt. I would add, IF it's "done right" (technically speaking) then. The shear complexity of these incredibly complex software systems can tend to be self defeating.
So, we have at least 2 years with everybody confused, mad as h***, health care up in the air, and the blame squarely on Obama and his minions. :-)
I suppose it's possible the site will be patched up and Obama will try to press ahead, but then it's almost guaranteed the hackers will get into the site - er, I should say, will continue to get into the site - and the effects of that will be even worse for the Administration.
So, you say, the libs will try to force a single payer system upon us. Well, the Dems would need the House for that -- in this atmosphere? I don't think so, but even if they pull it off, that's a year out. Then they have to create the legislation - not a trivial task, and again in light of the ongoing fiasco, probable court challenges, etc., well, let's give it a year. Then they have to put the thing together in (supposedly) working form. That's at least another 2 years, for a total of 4 years of the chaos that you mention. I don't think the country, even as degraded as it seems to be, will stand for it, and they sure as heck won't trust the gov't with health care.
The bad news is that even in the best case, an eventual repeal of ObamaCare, this is going to be a real mess for individuals, businesses (esp. small businesses), etc., for a good while.
You are free to disagree, of course! :-)
For that reason I contest one point you made and one point only. Conservatives won't have to keep things stirred up for the inevitable backlash to occur. Which is not to say that we shouldn't capitalize on it politically as much as possible.

Well, that's not a bad way to put it either!!! I just went a bit further into the "why's" part of it. :-)
As for the need(?) to keep the spotlight on Obama and the Dems' role in all this, you may be right. I really hope so! However, I have GREAT respect (fear?) of the Dems' ability to duck, weave, lie, shift blame, and, if need be, throw Obama under the bus, absolving the greater part of the Party from blame. Ie., "this implementation is not what we voted for!" This worries me because they have the media on their side, as well as a sizeable chunk of the populace who would still believe (almost like a religion) they would be benefitted by a "done right" ObamaCare, at least initially. Granted, that might wear off if enough of this group had their identities stolen, lose their jobs, etc., but, then again, that group for the most part would not be the targets an identity thief would go after, or they don't have jobs.
Then there is another powerful group who simply want the (additional) power and consequences be damned.
But I digress. I agree with you about the uproar; what Conservatives need to do, IMO, is make sure the blame goes to the deserving: every last blankety-blank one of them.
Ah, the Democrats have done a wonderful job of getting blame imputed to them. There’s no way to hide what Obamacare is, and they are loud and proud about it. The quieter the GOP, perhaps, the better. Even the slow will begin to see that the Democrat line of attempting to deflect blame is “The Republicans did not fix our foolishness!”
And then the GOP will say “Here’s the fix for your foolishness. Abolish it.”
I fear and respect their powers of deception too but I don't think they will be able to get a handle on this. They wanted 0bamaCare to be big and far reaching and it is. They created a Frankenstein monster and arrogantly tattooed their own name on its forehead. They distributed leaflets everywhere bragging that they built it. The villagers are not going to be fooled or appeased about its origin however simple minded they may be.
Those poor fools.
Well as I keep pointing out. Till I am blue in the face. These Democrats are old hands at doing things to degrade humanity. It dates from antebellum times and never stopped. Now they want to stranglehold the healing arts. Well they have finally attempted to rassle down something that was far bigger than they were. Who is going to accept this pitiful simulacrum of what US health care had been, in the name of Rah Rah Democrats? Not a lot.
Those expecting this to go like previous political games have gone, are wrong. The football here is bigger than the stadium in which the game is to be played. Atypical things happen in such scenarios.
The article may not confirm the cover — that’s what “Time” did with the phony story about how Reagan’s team kept the Iranians from releasing the hostages until after Carter was out of office. The cover and article title said one thing, but the article shredded the whole claim. It’s all about moving the magazine. Thanks lbryce.

Well, I hope you are right, because I’m not sure the GOP as a whole can even take advantage. They are that inept.

I agree about GOP ineptness. Hopefully we will have some more young, energetic conservative newcomers taking office.
It's hard to hope that I'm right about 0bamaCare's consequences because it means so much destruction of health care and the economy. But it may be the only thing that will ensure its repeal and a major setback of Progressive policies along with an end to lots of Dem careers.
