In America, those who work get punished. Those who don't, get a free ride, courtesy of a nationwide policy of spreading the wealth around through confiscation and redistribution.
Case in point: A welfare recipient in Austin recently contacted a morning radio show and explained that she gets a lot of money from the program. What she does with it may (or may not) surprise you.
Here's how your hard earned money is being used to help the less fortunate:
"While workers out there are preaching morality at people like me living on welfare, can you really blame us?"

Grrrrrrr
The very rich and the very poor all over the world have one thing in common. They both get to stay home all day.
I believe it was an even ruder word.
When whips and guns couldn’t avail for these Democrats, they switched to bribes.

Well yes and no, it still is a choice even if the resources are there. The whole modern idea of retirement to a life of entertainment is a blasphemy. One’s mode of work can change with age, and certainly vacationing has a place, but just to lam it from the work place permanently when there is no need is contrary to our created nature. In general the more work in an economy the better that economy will be.
Do you like those blue people who live way up in the mountains in the cold, desolate corners of Eurasia?
Imagine a big Hammock. There you go.
And you lie there steadily losing your dignity.
At some point this is going to catch up to them.
And when it does... mirabile dictu, the new miracle will be to get a job.
She says she is married and her husband gets government benefits. He does work very little from time to time, (probably for a cash handout), but prefers not to work.
And she also mentioned she gets family benefits for the 3 kids she has.
If you listen to the end of the interview, she says that “they encourage” her to stay on the program. This is because the program is the social worker’s income, too. No new programs, no funding, no job for the social worker. We all agree that the disabled, the elderly, and those who do need temporary assistance, should be able to get help. This was one area where I liked GWB’s ideas of privately funded programs.
Private charities always were a stellar solution.
Churches excelled at this. At the same time they provided help, they provided a watchful eye, and they provided prayers.
The only prayer of the government is that you’ll need them forevermore.
And... this government game WILL crash. As Ms. Thatcher pointed out, other people’s money runs out sooner or later.
Then watch the beneficiaries turn on it!
Except sooner or later the very poor get sick of being abused. Then some charismatic tyrant comes along, turns all the hungry young men into soldiers and mercenaries, and then pays them to brutalize the general public. They wipe out “the rich” and turn the rest of the population into slaves. It’s happened all over the world, over and over, all through history. But it has never happened here in the good old USA. And you know why. Be very grateful for all those blades of grass. You know exactly what I’m talking about.
I think it was Vladmir Lenin who said: “One man with a gun can control 100 unarmed people.”
Molon Labe.
I’ve told this story before.
My Aunt passed away three months ago at age 89. She was completely Blind, losing her Sight to Glaucoma when she was in her early 20’s.
In the late 40’s, she worked as a Seamstress, if that’s what you call sitting in front of an Industrial Sewing Machine making Clothes all day long. She worked in what we today would call a Sweat Shop. Did I mention she was Blind?
She did what she had to do to survive since our Family had nothing, barely scraping by.
My Parents were newly Married after my Father returned from the War, living in a two room basement Apartment with my Newborn Older Brother. My Aunt and her younger Brother were living in my Late Grandmother’s Apartment, which my Father described to me as squalor. My Family’s place wasn’t much to look at, so it had to be pretty bad.
The Factory my Aunt worked in closed down and she lost her job. After that she and her Brother scraped by living on his meager Income and anything the rest of the Family could afford to give them. My Mother told my Aunt to go down to the Welfare Office to get some help since she couldn’t find another Job.
My Aunt refused because she felt you don’t trade your pride to get on the Dole. It was an embarrassment. Since things were getting worse and there wasn’t enough money to pay what needed to be paid, my Mother “instructed” my Father to “transport” my Aunt to the Welfare Office, whether she liked it or not.
My Aunt ended up collecting about $10 a week from what she told me. It took her about six months to find another Job, but she took it and got off the Dole.
My Mother always told me “you help people who CAN’T help themselves, not people who WON’T help themselves”. This Country has lost sight of that simple fact and it is very obvious that a great number of people here have no sense of Pride, in themselves or in our great Nation.
Sorry for being long winded, but the simple fact remains that the Safety Net has turned into a Hammock and nobody cares. People think they are owed a living simply because they Vote for Democrats who agree with them.
Yup. Thought I was wrong, but was wrong about thinking I was wrong. But do two wrongs make a right?
Now I’m just confused. LOL.

Gee, what a fantastic example for the kids he's sired.
Wonder how THEY'LL turn out.
