PORTSMOUTH — Janet Groat is so passionate about gun sense she said she could spend the whole day talking about it.
The Portsmouth woman recently started a state chapter of Moms Demand Action, a national organization that started Dec. 15, 2012, a day after 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 children and six adult staff members in a mass murder at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
Their mission is to create a culture where laws and business policies reflect common sense and are not just the result of political posturing, Groat said.
Nationally, eight children die from gun violence every day, according to Groat.
“My son is shocked that there are many states where you can be blind and still own a firearm,” Groat said. “Children aren't thinking about constitutional ideology. They are thinking about what makes sense.”

How come they never start a group calling for criminals to be disarmed, just law-abiding people?

Her son is a liberal raised moron, just like his mother. The kid will probably grow up to be a fag or a democrat senator.
Why doesn’t she start a local chapter of “lock up all the kooks?” It would be much more effective to institutionalize all the crazy people then trying to dis-arm law abiding citizens and rape the constitution.

I think Janet needs to be introduced to the Knock-out game. It is easy to think you are safe, until you are not.
I mean, seriously? You would deprive a blind person of the means to protect themselves?
If someone jumps a blind person I would think they'd be the first you'd want to have a sidearm to jam in the attackers body and pull the trigger... several times.

First time I've heard the term applied the way this airhead and author want it. But it doesn't surprise me, and I bet it will become widespread used by all the anti-2nd Amendment people

It is airhead mothers like these that have helped produce a society of defective people who go out and do evil and /or stupid things with what is just a tool.
Janet Groat - another leftist who has found meaning to her life with her new soapbox. She no doubt is relishing all the attention she never had and can finally affirm to herself everyday that, yes indeed, she must be a good person because of what she is doing.

My thought is that all these orgs are funded and run by the same people.
Frankly, I do not believe this woman’s number of 8 children per day. If she were so confident of it, she would be saying their names one by one. It would take 30 seconds.
The reason the gun-control people never confront the law-breakers, is that the criminals are probably carrying guns, and would shoot them when the conversation got too heated or accusatory.
Legislators, on the other hand, are rarely armed, and are always trying to keep up the PR so they may be re-elected.
The rest of us, those who have gone through all the hoops and training in order to be a responsible and legal possessor of firearms, and those who agree with the right to keep and bear arms, are left to seethe on the sidelines, rarely consulted unless we, too, confront the legislators.
