PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - A horse pulling a buggy with an Amish family aboard in rural Pennsylvania was struck by a bullet fired from a moving car and later died, police said on Tuesday.
No people were injured in the drive-by shooting, which occurred on Sunday in the village of Ronks in the heart of Lancaster County's Amish country, said Lieutenant Robin Weaver of the East Lampeter Township Police Department.
The buggy was about a mile from home when the two adults and three children aboard heard a loud crack, police said.

The family continued home, where they realized the animal had been injured.

And this news came via Canada though it happened in the heart of Pennsylvania, in Lancaster County's Amish community.
The Quakers did it.
PA ping.
Uppity Amish PING
Both points valid. Standard political correctness.
There are significant numbers of Amish and Mennonite in Canada too.
So sad! And yes, I’m forever amazed at the absolute fury when an animal suffers, yet deafening silence when innocent people are harmed, raped and killed.
THEY SHOOT HORSES, DON’T THEY?
Rival Mennonite gang hit. Just like on Sons of Anarchy.
Are the media now using Amish as a euphemism too?
What goes clip-clop, clip-clop, bang, clip-clop, clip-clop, bang?
An Amish drive-by.
“this news came via Canada though it happened in the heart of Pennsylvania”
The horse must have been white.
The shooter, who fired from an automobile, obviously wasn’t Amish. Here’s hoping someone got the car’s plate number.
Yeah, if you travel the road in Amish country, the horse and buggies will sometimes slow things down. So what? Take a different route if you're in a hurry. The Amish were there first.
I've also found most of them to be extraordinarily polite. They will pull off the road when it is wide enough and let gas powered vehicular traffic pass them. Give them a friendly nod, smile or wave when they do. They want to be good neighbors and almost always are.
I honestly don’t care how the Amish live their lives. They seem to have a great work ethic, and leave others alone.
You’ve got to be one of the lowest members of our society to do something like this.
Your self-worth must be non-existent. You can’t do this and be proud of yourself.
Find out who did it and execute them, before they start targeting people instead.
That horse didn’t even flinch. It took it’s family home. It did it’s last task, loyal to the end.
This angers me considerably.
^ #16 post. Loud applause from me for your words. What a shameful act.
Oh this is just so wrong!!!
