President Obama named Popcorn the National Thanksgiving Turkey at the White House Wednesday.

I’m always kind of hoping some president will bring out
an axe, chop it’s head off and start plucking...
I think I was affected in my youth when an instructor
in Escape and Survival taught us at Camp Pendleton.
He walked out with a little bunny in his arms, it’s
little nose twitching, and said “The first thing you
have to do to have rabbit stew is, KILL THE RABBIT!”
And with that he slammed it by the back legs against
a tree and proceeded to dump it’s guts out and skin it.
A lesson I took to heart after not eating for two days
and living on rattlesnake meat.

I don’t remember Amy, Chelsea, or the Bush girls fidgeting and looking so uncomfortable/bored when they were out in public with their fathers. Even the turkey was more calm on the table.

It was embarrassing.... I normally can’t watch any of them for one second, but I couldn’t turn away... At least the older one smiled, but the younger one (and not *that* young!) was quite fidgety.
I was surprised to find out it was a white turkey.
