Lundergan Grimes appears to copy 'family recipes' from others (Ripped-off recipes scandal)

Kentucky Democratic Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes' family recipes, posted on her website for the Thanksgiving holiday on Wednesday, appear to be lifted from other websites.

-snip-

The recipe issue is reminiscent of one that ensnared Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) campaign for a few days in April of 2008.

McCain's campaign was caught passing others' recipes off as favorite family recipes of Cindy McCain.

After drawing negative press for the situation, the McCain campaign scrubbed the recipes off their website and accused an intern of plagiarism.

Really? 2008?

They couldn't recall Elizabeth Warren's phony Indian recipes from 2012 that she stole from a gourmet magazine?

Good point!

Why do people do things like this?

I can’t cook worth a gosh darn dagnabit and even I could give you a recipe.

OK, I’d have to attribute it to hubby’s ex-girlfriend, but I would DO that.

Might shave a couple of percentage points off of her, but we really need Bevin if we want to remove the seat from play. McConnell is WEAK.

A recent episode of Bizarre Foods America, Andrew Zimmern visited an American Indian tribe in northern New England who in keeping with their traditions, beaver meat is an important staple. Since she claims to be more Indian than she really is, does Dizzy Miss Lizzy eat beaver? Not insinuatin' nuttin', just sayin'

Beaver tail was said to be a favorite of the men on the Lewis and Clark expedition.

LOL Go to Barbara Mikulski’s website and look up her recipe for crab cakes. She copied it right off the back of a can of Old Bay.

Oh, good night—recipes!

There are many similar recipes and even some exact recipes found in multiple sourcs—I’ve seen recipes in published books (copyrighted) that are exactly the same as 25-30 year old ones I’ve cut out from newspaprs or that someone has given to me written on a notecard.

Don’t forget the Hildabeast’s 1995ish Toll House cookie recipe that won boatloads of fawning libtard critical acclaim.

So what. John McCain was stupid to allow such things. He is not going to be President ever. You can stop sticking up for the worst candidate in history.

Huh?!?

That's what you took from that simple post? Maybe you should read it again.

Oh, good grief!

Sometimes favorite family recipes did have an origin that can be found online elsewhere: we have a chocolate cake recipe that’s a family standard that came from the NY Times and a kale recipe that we make all the time that came from the old Wild Oats supermarket chain before Whole Foods bought them out. Both can be found online in their original forms, but both, with small modifications, are genuinely family favorite recipes.

Most of my favorite recipes were concocted by others - they’re still my favorite recipes.
