RUSH LIMBAUGH SCORCHES POPE FRANCIS
WorldNetDaily ^ | 11/27/2013 | KATHY SHAIDLE

Radio giant Rush Limbaugh is scorching the leader of the Roman Catholic Church for criticizing unfettered capitalism, saying, “This is just pure Marxism coming out of the mouth of the pope.”

“You know the pope, Pope Francis has issued an official papal proclamation, and it’s sad,” Limbaugh said on his national broadcast Wednesday. “It’s actually unbelievable. It’s sad because this pope makes it very clear he doesn’t know what he’s talking about when it comes to capitalism and socialism and so forth.”

“I’m not Catholic,” Limbaugh added, “but up until this I admired the man.”

In the 84-page document titled “Evangelii Gaudium,” which was released Tuesday, Pope Francis called upon politicians to provide “dignified work, education and health care” to all citizens.

“The commandment ‘Thou shalt not kill’ sets a clear limit in order to safeguard the value of human life,” wrote the pope. “Today we also have to say ‘thou shalt not’ to an economy of exclusion and inequality. Such an economy kills.”

Noting that he had visited the Vatican “numerous times,” Limbaugh observed wryly: “Believe me, it wouldn’t exist without tons of money. Somebody has either written this for [the pope] or gotten to him. This is pure Marxism.”

To call it “pure Marxism” is as someone noted ‘bombastic nonsense’.

I disagree. I think it might be a little over the top though. Just as calling it “bombastic nonsense” is over the top. ;-)

How did that work out?

About as well as it did for the Pilgrims. And they were Protestants. So this is interdenominational.

He isn’t saying that the solution is to up the amount of welfare,...

That is exactly what he's saying =>

We need to be convinced that charity “is the principle not only of micro-relationships (with friends, with family members or within small groups) but also of macro-relationships (social, economic and political ones)".

Because you Don’t understand what the pope is actually saying...you listen to the media’s interpretation and don’t like the Pope and Catholics so off you go.

Inevitably you’re one of THE first to start the Catholic bashing..no matter what the issue is.
so go for it.its a free country, even for those who are biased, or shall I say , bigoted.

I’ll never bow down to the god of government. Letting politicians usurp the free will of men is an abomination and so is this bogus and Marxist pope.
BTW, this is coming from a Catholic convert, that is, if my conscience still permits.

I disagree. It is a definition without in this case any backing, and that is the kind of ignorance that I find offensive, and not as you allege in your cheap psychologizing an insult to the Pope.

Problem is, it goes against human nature. People are motivated by two things: Fear of bad things happening and desire for good things to happen. And the latter is the higher course.

Sadly, for many, any desire realized is automatically logged as “greed” when it is more than they have.

Judge not, lest ye be judged.

Meanwhile, the pope is a little like Obama. The more he says, the more his motives and sensibilities are exposed for all to see. And all but the True Believers will see right through him.

It’s you passing judgments on others and telling them what they understand and don’t understand. I understand enough, thank you and buzz off!

“If the Pope is calling on the state, politicians, to create a charity state that gives everything to everyone, then he asking the government to put us all in comfy prisons.”

And I would agree with you - except that everything the pope is saying is predicated on a love for Christ. There is only freedom in Christ.

“I don’t think Rush is too attached to his things. I think he enjoys them for sure, but Rush spends far more time talking about concepts like liberty, morality, responsibility, you get my drift, than he ever spends talking about things.”

Well, he can’t talk about ONLY his things because then no one would listen! :)

do you think supply and demand should be outlawed?

No. And remember that this discussion started because of Rush's unthinking use of the term unfettered concerning capitalism.
