Rate hikes hidden in California's glowing Obamacare reviews (half will pay more)
Bakersfield Californian ^ | Nov 30, 2013 | Charles Ornstein

During a meeting last week, officials at Covered California, the state's much-touted health insurance marketplace, made a pretty stark admission: Half of the approximately 1 million consumers whose health plans are being canceled will pay more under the Affordable Care Act.

The numbers, it seems, have been overshadowed by other, more positive headlines. First, the state signed up more consumers in October thanHealthCare.gov, the federal marketplace handling enrollments for 36 states. Second, the board governing Covered California voted last week not to allow insurers to offer their canceled policies for another year, rejecting President Obama's recommendation earlier this month.

But consumer advocates say there's more to the story, too. Canceled policyholders may lose their doctors and hospitals. That's because some top California hospitals, including UCLA and Cedars-Sinai medical centers, are not participating in most of the new health plans.

All the left now has with this fiasco is to use propaganda.

The compliant pressholes will oblige.

Here’s a clue for those who support ObamaCare because they get lower rates. ObamaCare will still come out of your wallet in all manner of knock-on effects it will have in jobs lost, prices raised, etc. Strangling the economy won’t provide you subsidized health insurance for long. Cf. Maggie Thatcher. Also, see tagline.

“ObamaCare will still come out of your wallet”

Exactly right.

Just some examples...

Theoretically “take from the rich and give it to the poor” — but we all know how well socialism works, it eventually makes everyone poor.

2 Obamacare Taxes to Watch Out for Right Now

http://www.fool.com/how-to-invest/personal-finance/2013/11/29/2-obamacare-taxes-to-watch-out-for-right-now.aspx

“Dan Caplinger, The Motley Fool’s director of investment planning, discusses two of the taxes that were included in provisions of the Affordable Care Act. He explains how one imposes an extra 0.9 percentage-point tax on Medicare withholding for certain high-income taxpayers,...

Second, a new net investment income tax of 3.8% applies to investment income for the same high-income taxpayers, defined as single filers with more than $200,000 in income or joint filers with more than $250,000 in income.”

We’ve recently already seen a 25+% increase in the cost of food and energy, so imagine the cost as healthcare gets passed on to the consumer?

ALSO: No one is discussing the new 4% Obamacare tax on the sale of your home. That is going to do what to real estate?

“....Theoretically “take from the rich and give it to the poor” — but we all know how well socialism works, it eventually makes everyone poor.” Exactly; everyone poor and powerless, except the elitists that rule the system, hence the great lie of socialism/communism. The American people should be ashamed of themselves voting this conman/liar/thief into the POTUS office. We need to pick ourselves off the ground and get out and vote, understand it’s not too late, and toss him, and most of Congress out in the next election. Problem, who in the primaries will be worth voting in to truly change things back to a Constitutionally observed, democratically elected Republic? We know it’s not the dhimmicrats, barely the republicans, hmmmmm.....a problem that will not be solved easily over the next few election phases, especially with the ongoing demographic changes (hey, older white people, please die off sooner so we can have a truly diverse, happy socialist state, please?). The future does not look rosy, but one must always have hope. Man the barricades and push back; their numbers aren’t overwhelming nor are Americans historically cowards...historically.

Tax going to the government now through Obamacare. About a 4% tax on all sales of homes.
This on top of your death tax, gas tax, property tax.

Here in California we are pondering a tax on breathing. The Democrats I believe are hoping to create two taxes, one on the inhale and another on the exhale.
The tax on inhale will be far more expensive than the exhale hoping to reduce the effect of humans breathing in all the good air.

But ObamaCare isn't redistribution, and you are racist if you say it is.

Raise the price and tell people you’ve lowered it. This is no longer a fantasy.

"I'm not sure people fully understood the impact of the law three years ago when it was just numbers," he said. "Now it's gotten very real that some people are going to have to pay more."

Doh!
