A 10,000-year-old house has been unearthed in Israel, offering what archaeologists say is a fascinating glimpse into human development. The structure, which dates back to the beginning of civilisation, was discovered close to Jerusalem in a region known as the Judean Shephelah. It is the oldest structure yet found in the region and dates back to the period in human history when communities first began to domesticate plants and animals.

'Here we have evidence of man’s transition to permanent dwellings and that in fact is the beginning of the domestication of animals and plants; instead of searching out wild sheep, ancient man started raising them near the house.'

The remarkable finds, the oldest of which are described as hailing from the Pre-Pottery Neolithic Period, were made during an excavation prior to the widening of a highway.

Cool find but it shows the beginning of settlements not civilization. We live in the era of dumbing down all definitions.

“A 10,000-year-old house has been unearthed in Israel...”

This is what happens if you allow dirt to accumulate. Dust and mop your home at least once a week.
