David Plouffe Predicts Obama’s Approval Rating Will Recover: ‘People Trust This President’

Former Obama advisor David Plouffe appeared on This Week With George Stephanopoulos Sunday morning and predicted that President Barack Obama’s approval rating would rise over the next few months, following the increasing functionality of the Affordable Care Act.

“This has been a tough task,” Plouffe said. “It’s not just health care. The shutdown affected everybody’s confidence in government. But let’s fast-forward to the State of the Union and the months after that. Health care working better, a lot of people signing up. The economy continuing to strengthen. Hopefully no Washington shutdowns. I think the president’s numbers will recover. I think people’s confidence will recover.”

Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan rebutted that Obama’s broken “if you like you plan, you can keep your plan” pledge would permanently cost him in the polls.

“I think he spoke directly to this, and I think people accepted what he had to say,” Plouffe replied. “I think people trust this president. There have been numbers all over the place. But I’m confident that in a few months from now, the trust numbers will come up, and his approval number will come up.”

Socialized health care kills people. It is inevitable. I suspect this version of bastardized socialized healthcare is even more deadly than the purer forms of socialized healthcare found in Britain and Canada.

Maybe that is what the Demoncrats wanted. Perhaps they strategized that if they made the system so unworkable that people were dying by the thousands that the outcry would be so pronounced that the people would demand that the government do something and they would then implement total government control of the healthcare system.

The only way can pull it off is to blame the insurance industry for the failure of ObamaCare. How they could possibly convince voters of that I can’t imagine but I have often been surprised by the gullibility of the voting population.

Actually that does not surprise me at all.

If you think about it in the context that this is an enterprise run by our government and you know the history of the purchase of computer systems by our government it was a for gone conclusion that it would be behind schedule and catastrophically over budget and probably never comleted.

If you are old enough you may recall that the IRS was supposed to get an entire new computer system during the Clinton first term to replace the antiquated IBM mainframes that they had been using since the 1960s. The project went on and on long after dead line was past. By the time the project was completed the computers and software were obsolete.

I believe part of the problems now experienced by the computer engineers working on this project is that the IRS is still using that system and the have to design software to communicate with that system.

I have a solution: Leverage the IRS's team. Tell them they must communicate with Obamacare's site via a web service. Then we merely need to do data pick-ups and drop-offs at a standard location in a known format.
