Police are appealing to the public to help them nab a pack of young hooligans suspected of vandalizing and desecrating a Brighton church by ripping to shreds a painting of the pope, destroying an organ and leaving behind a buffet of junk food in their path of destruction.
A security video posted today on BPDNews.com shows several youths loitering on the grounds of Our Lady of Presentation Church on Washington Street. It’s believed the break-in occurred between 3 p.m. Nov. 23 and 11:30 a.m. Nov. 25.
Investigators said they found residue from two fire extinguishers covering a floor of the church.
On the second floor, police said an oil painting of the pope was “cut up and defaced with phrases such as ‘Devil’s Star,’ ‘(Expletive) God’ and ‘Scooby Doo.’ ”
They also said the church organ “was destroyed and a gold crucifix was removed from the altar and placed near the front entrance.”
Officers found a bag of Tostito chips, a container of Pringles, a bottle of Sprite, a water bottle, and a half-empty bottle of Italian wine at the scene.
Anyone with information about the individuals pictured or the crime itself is urged to call District D-14 detectives at 617-343-4256.

Hate crime?
Godless, leftist yutes of destruction-—what a bright future ahead. We did some pranks as kids but to destroy the inside of a church was totally inconceivable. You just don’t mess with the house of God. Today’s cretins have no respect nor fear of Him. BIG, BIG MISTAKE. Reap what ya sow.
Destroying the organ, which implies thousands and thousands of dollars in damage, probably makes it a felony.
Gee, in old Boston, these punks would have gotten a police billy club massage before going to jail for a few years, after being forced to personally apologize to any affected clergy.
At first, I thought it would be some new illegals from Yemen or Somalia, but now, I don’t know. One of them may still be from Somalia, or they all might be Satanists on a methed-up, drunken mission of desecration. Put up electric barriers (ungrounded).

I suspect these little punks are wanna-be Satanists. Nothing else quite says blasphemy and sacrilege like attacking a Catholic Church.
Photo outtakes from the surveillence video show two light-skinned males (probably white) and a blond. By their size and dress, definitely more than “youths.” With the amount of property damage and other circumstances (hate crime?), probably will face charges as adults (if they are not adults already).
It is tough to eat Pringles and Doritos with regular gloves on. (Latex, yes; regular cold weather gloves, more difficult.) It is even harder to drink from a bottle without placing your lips to the opening. So I am betting the criminals left valuable physical evidence at the scene in the form of fingerprints and saliva on the food products. It being Boston, they might already have their DNA and fingerprints in a missing child identfication database from their elementary school days. Even if they are not, the first time their fingerprints are submitted for an employment background check, the system will flag them as unidentified suspects for this crime.
Stupid as they are, they probably have cellphone videos of their crime; might have even posted them on-line.
Police should put the word out on the street that they are essentially screwed already and it is just a matter of time before they are identified and arrested. See who cracks first and turns the other two in.
