The GOP might as well be dead

The Growth and Opportunity Project, aka “the autopsy,” was heralded as the Republican Party’s clear-eyed assessment of its 2012 presidential defeat. Autopsies are done on dead things, and ever since its March 2013 release, the GOP has done everything possible to stay dead.

The Republican Party is dead to African Americans. Not that there was much of pulse to begin with. Romney won 6 percent of the black vote to 93 percent for Obama, which isn’t surprising since Romney was looking to unseat the nation’s first black president. But it is also not surprising considering all of the voter suppression efforts around the country.

That the GOP ought to try to appeal to African Americans was recognized in the autopsy. “There are numerous outside groups that are studying the best way for the Republican Party to better reach African American voters,” the report pointed out. “The Republican Party should leverage the best practices identified by such organizations.” You employ that “best practices” nonsense when you and your staff haven’t a clue what to do. And it’s clear that if Michael Steele, the former chairman of the Republican National Committee who is black, were still head of the party, at least two egregious episodes would not have happened.

A tweet from the party’s official Twitter account on Sunday would not have celebrated Rosa Parks on the anniversary of her historic bus-boycott arrest by lauding “her role in ending racism.” Sure, the tweet was later corrected. But, come on, people. The lowest level black person at the RNC could have told them that the tweet as flat-out wrong and offensive. Not that anyone would have listened, assuming there are any low-level black people there.

The GOP could win by being constitutional conservatives. The puppetmasters are still trying to get around that.

Imagine what would've happened if we'd had a candidate all conservatives trusted, instead of Mitt Romney. One that isn't afraid to have a conversation with black, hispanic, and poor voters about how conservative principles would lift them up.

Nobody's going to switch allegience to a party of corporate greed. Are the RINOs really this delusional?

The GOP was nearly unstoppable when it was known as the "party of ideas."

Trying to pander like the Democrats will lead to more defeats.

What color is the sky on the planet you’re from?

You still think elections matter? That’s cute.

What is it the Republican party of neocons stands for that the family working class should vote them in?

You make a valid point.

Anatoliy Golitsyn & Yuri Bezmenov often mentioned that the Communists project weakness when they're strong and strength when they're weak.

I smell fear.

The fact that some conservatives keep calling him “The Kenyan” is a part of the problem.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh puh-leaze. Do you have some form of white guilt going on here? This issue is not with conservatives or whites or anything like that. Its all about black racism and the fact that they view us as racists simply because we disagree with Obama.
No, we should offer reparations. $50k per head, but they have to give up their US citizenship & leave. Then we’ll all be happy.
“Voter suppression efforts?” Really?
It’s so unfair the GOP is suppressing:
voting multiple times in the same precinct or other precincts
urban precincts having a 115% turnout, and not one vote for a Republican
dead people voting
pets voting
voting democrat without even leaving home, but we all know you voted democrat because the poll list and machine count says you did
voting in exchange for a bottle of Thunderbird
boxes and boxes of “recently discovered ballots” laying around in car trunks in case the vote is close; again, each and every one of these votes being for democrats
Yeah, the folks got the right to vote.
I compare this to someone standing over John F. Kennedy’s grave stating, “He might as well be dead.”
He’s dead. The GOP is dead.
I've read this statement and I've read the tweet. I don't "get" why this is "offensive".
Someone please tell me.
I realize that what I am about to write will be considered racist, but the fact is that there are genetic differences among the various races that affect emotions, intellect, etc. That is a biological fact, and an anthropologist skilled in anatomy can identify a person’s race with just few bones. The author of the “Bell Curve” was crucified for its findings about the distinctions among the races. Even though scientists know about these differences, they are not permitted to be discussed. This is what PC does. Blacks and Whites have a different worldview that is heavily influenced by genetics. There isn’t anything that can be done about it. It is simply a matter of nature.
Sadly, the party that is exponentially worse, is about to resurrect the GOP. Talk about a lose lose situation...
