Louisiana voters have made themselves pretty clear on Obamacare. According to a recent poll, 59% of voters in the state oppose the law and 54% of them said that theyre less likely to vote for Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) because of her support for Obamacare.
But Landrieu, who is one of the most vulnerable Senate Democrats, isnt listening to her constituents. She insists that she would support Obamacare again if it came up for a vote in the Senate:
The Affordable Care Act, as I said, the bill itself has got very good concepts and yes, I would support it again, Landrieu said. But, that doesnt excuse the poor roll out of what should have happened. There should have not been a glitch in the software.

Maybe she should be planning for her retirement.
I firmly believe that Mary is just as nuts as Nancy Pelosi. I so look forward to her campaign commercials. I get emails from her now, she wants to be my friend. I live north of I-10, she doesn’t want anything to do with me.
I think she realizes her number is up. IIRC, the Senate had to help her cheat to get elected. She knows PPACA and her support will kill her chances but look at it this way. She’s vested in the Senate retirement, she’s probably stolen millions, and she’s been give a deal by Obama for some cushy administration position if she talks the PPACA talk and does the PPACA walk. Win-win for her.
And who knows, maybe they can cheat her in again, too.
Mary is just a socialist who still carries her baby fat and not very well. She should be relegated to the bayous and the alligators.
In years past I would have said that her re-election is chancy at best. If Louisiana uses touch screen voting machines then her Re-election actually depends on the whim of the ruling Democrats and the partly Soros owned company that “counts” ALL the touch screen votes out of the country.
THE LANDRIEU PAPER TRAIL IS HUGE Landrieu sold her aye vote for a "price." Landrieu was bought off in what Forbes Magazine dubbed "The 'Louisiana Purchase" that included a massive $4.3 Billion to Landrieu.
<><> Where's the $4.3 billion, Mary?
FORBES REPORTED the Democrats nailed Landrieus support for Obamacare w/ a greenback bribe. Landrieu, critics believe, pledged her vote in exchange for some $200 million more additional federal funds for Louisiana. Except that, due to a drafting error, the law ended up giving Louisiana $4.3 billion: more than twenty times the assigned amount. MORE HERE http://www.forbes.com/fdc/welcome_mjx.shtml
How $4.3 billion to Landrieu was attached to the Obamacare bill, and how Obama and Reid failed to catch and fix it, is yet annother indictment of the Obamacare atrocity. The payoff to Landrieu should be investigated as an indication of how EVERY Democrat came to vote for Obamacare.
<><> Where's the $4.3 billion, Mary?
BACKSTORY In the fall of 2009, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was trying to get the necessary 60 Dimocrat votes to pass the Affordable Care Act. He needed every Dim on board, which gave waffling senators a great deal of leverage. In Landrieu's case, she connivingly saw that selling her aye vote could get her maybe $200 million federal dollars. Obama complied--- Reid chalked up another vote for Obamacare---and the $4.3 Landrieu giveaway was attached to the Obamacare bill.
<><> Where's the money, Mary?
Chubby has cashed in her Louisiana Purchase cash when ObamaCare was passed in 2010. She doesn’t need the job.
There is nothing good about either Obamacare or Landrieu. She is just another Louisiana politician, evolved from the bayou slime. On the other hand, I can identify with any politician that stays bought and doesn’t try to weasel away from a position just because it has become politically unpopular. She’s likely set for life, as noted by other posters.
Doubling down on stupid...or maybe the fix is in.
Stick to your guns, Silly Mary...Oh wait “guns” that won’t work.
Not if we pick a winner. She’ll be buried by Obamacare, unless we pick a loser.
Certain Democrats have agreed to take the fall for the sake of socialized medicine. let’s face it they will not suffer like the little people. they are elitists and they have special privileges. America is no longer a Republic it is an Oligarchy.
That is the democrats new strategy. For those who are running for reelection, they are coming out in favor of the so called “positive” aspects of Obamacare (mandatory coverage of pre existing conditions, kids can stay on parents health plan until 26, etc.) and hoping that the public will forgive them at the voting booth. Won’t work IMO, but then again, you have a lot of foolish voters out there as well.
Landrieu’s ace in the hole is that LA voters may not even know her position of Obamacare. She gots a lot of support, as I understand it, from upper-class “Republicans”, for whom she delivers various subsidies.
Outside NOLA she is toast. Her fate hinges on how many Orleans Parish dead folk’s votes the dims can dig up.
Bye, Bye Landrieu! Louisana votes will show you the door very soon.
The calculus of her continuing support for Obamacare makes perfect sense. If she has any sense of winning, she will need 99.9% of the 120% of registered black voters to turn out for her.
Landrieu is planning on “rebranding” the ACA by announcing that it was all just a typo and all of the democrats were “misspeaking” ...”what we really voted for is the Affordable Car Repair Act...this bill will lower insurance rates and provide better automotive repairs...you can keep your insurance if you like it, you can keep your body shop if you like it. You will be required to buy insurance even if you only have a bicycle or no transportation at all...but don’t worry, we will seize vehicles from people who have too many cars and give them to those who need cars to drive long distances to buy their crack. ...too f’d up to drive, we have navigators who will deliver.”
So will she get unelected?
