The modern Left and the gymnastics of delusional language. "I'm not a Marxist but . . .".

This guy doesn’t understand the the problems he sees come from Marxist values. Look at Detroit. The “Paris of the West” destroyed by years of democrat/Marxist rule.

Marxist education and Marxist media have destroyed America.
God only knows how or when it can recover.

capitalism works...but when liberal progressive leaders get voted into office - they use their “socialist” views to form and pass policy that favors their system over that of the competitive urge to do better that capitalism brings to the table...if left unchecked (which is what has happened since the 60’s) - it tears down the perception that capitalism has failed, where in reality it hasn’t - it’s just been infected with socialist policy from those infiltrators decades before...all of which was told by those in the 60’s on the dangers of allowing progressives into office or having any type of political/social/economic power or authority...

We got here not by will - but by ignoring what was occurring right in front of our faces!

David Simon seems to forget that Baltimore and Maryland has been dominated by liberals/leftists/democrats for decades. The horrors he has seen in his state and city is what the left has created. He is absolutely brain washed.

The lack of repent and narcissism and sense of entitlement and advanced progressed race is what gets most people stuck with Marxism.

If this sense of superiority waned before a minute of humbleness, there would be hope. But right now a bunch of self righteous arrogant emotional retards similar to Nazi emotionalitors trudge on.

indeed, fair pay vs. share pay. People do not want to be fairly paid within the construct of focus of their work as men would, they want a share of the CEO as if he was daddy. hence they become slaves and are corporatists. What CEO would not see in this good to exploit in temptation. The incest is obvious.

As a worker I am capable of seeing that flipping burger is a narrow branch duty of the whole business. I fund raise for the company, but I certainly do not own the business plan nor its original intention.

Good bye patents, hello. marxism. Nothing is going to be inventable now.

These people are greedy of the brilliant and inventor, and the right wing establishment is very defensive of its own patents vs. new ones ironically.

They hate the founders and hate it even more the Tparty could be successful with that historical model. We are dealing with high school retards ganging on the smart one ... including the embarassed government teachers who are dunces and look bad.

I respectfully disagree with you. I read the whole article. It appears to me that he doesn't support Marxism as the solution but does say that Marx "was a much better diagnostician than he was a clinician." In other words his solution was crap.

Capitalism does attempt to marginalize labor. One can't blame capitalism. Unions have done everything possible to get themselves a bigger and bigger piece of the pie. That's the same greed for which Simon attacks capitalism. The fact is that capitalism figures out a way for technology to build workarounds to labor. And in so doing it leaves labor at home watching TV or if they are working asking, "Do you want fries with that?"

Currently, the tack is toward feeling sorry for labor and making sure they have all the comforts possible...without having to work! And they like it. They've figured out workarounds too. Which is how to maximize their part of the pie without working and take from capitalism through taxation. But capitalism is not going to give up their part of the pie unless forced. And they will continue to build workarounds to labor which will marginalize labor.

Here's where Simon's train runs off the tracks: "The last job of capitalism – having won all the battles against labour, having acquired the ultimate authority, almost the ultimate moral authority over what's a good idea or what's not, or what's valued and what's not – the last journey for capital in my country has been to buy the electoral process, the one venue for reform that remained to Americans." If capitalism is buying the electoral process they're doing a pretty crappy job of it! I would say they could learn a little from labor in that regard. Finally he talks about 1932 and the emergence from The Great Depression but never mentions the role the spike in consumption for World War II had. Will this Nation continue in a downward trajectory until a spike in consumption called World War III?

“Many of them do admit they are far left socialist Marxists.”

I knew a black guy who was in to all this Marxist liberation theology nonsense, and wore a Che’ shirt all the time, until I had it out with him.

Then, he did a little research in to who Che’ actually was, and he never wore that short again, though he never apologized.

freeangel—Spot on—T’anks! We are two America’s Those who love freedom (Constitutional Law— Religion,Morality, and Knowledge—as reflected in Fundamental Law-the opposite of what he “progressives” desire. and 2) those who love slavery(more precisely those who love the power to enslave others— the very essence of Liberalism in America today)

“Those who love freedom. 2) those who love slavery.”

It is a fact that there are those who desire individualism and freedom, and those that prefer to be led. Thinking for yourself is hard, and many won’t do it.

Democracy isn’t easy, and it’s even harder to keep over the long-term. Historicly, it is an abhoration. History shows us that the natural inclination of mankind is for autocratic styles of government, where they don’t have to be bothered by thinking, and just follow orders.

Both styles eventually become corrupt, and must be flushed from time to time.

Liberalism is a disease and like most cancers destroys its host. At age 76, I believe I have lived in a much better time and dearly hope that those who follow me will get a taste of what I have been privileged to have experienced. Our nation has been infiltrated with evil people in numbers far greater than we can imagine. I will continue to fight for our freedoms even though the goal may no longer be achievable. I'm no quitter

Some of the flaming Liberals that I run into think they are on a debate team.

Argue a point even when they know they are wrong just so they will not lose.

I know a guy that has a house full of guns but will excuse the left because he thinks it makes him appear “smarter.”

I remember back in the 50’s when there was only ONE America.

Those days of McCarthy sniffing out communists, before the invasion of the illegal brown skinned roaches from Mexico, the days before special rights were granted to special races based only on their skin color, where public schools actually taught the lessons that mattered in life, and on and on and on.......
