Billy Graham 'Extremely Weak': Son Asks for Prayers

Rev. Billy Graham's son has asked people to pray for his ailing 95-year-old father, who, he says, is now "extremely weak."

"Our family would appreciate your prayers for him that the Lord would strengthen him," Franklin Graham said on the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association website.

Graham, who is a Christian evangelist and president of the association, revealed that his father had not been feeling well since celebrating his Nov. 7 birthday at a gala celebration last month in a hotel in Asheville, N.C.

"Since that night a few short weeks ago, he has had another bout with a respiratory infection and was hospitalized briefly before returning home to recuperate," wrote Franklin. "He is extremely weak but his vitals are good.

"We value your prayers — in fact, we depend on them. We find words of comfort and praise in the psalms. To all who have stood with us — some for sixty years — supporting us financially and undergirding through prayer, thank you for your faithful support."(continued)

I would pray that God convince his family to let Billy go to God within God’s timeframe.

Matthew 25:21
His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Do (or did) you want to lose your parents? Franklin is not just the heir, he’s the son.

I didn’t.

But when when my dad was in a coma in the hospital I gave him permission to die. He took two more breathed and did just that. There was no change in his condition that made me think that his death was imminent.

I pray a prayer of thanks to God for his choice of Billy to relay his message to so many and for so many times.

Billy has been a blessing to me and I prayer to my Lord that He will relay that message to Billy!

I talk to my dad when he was dying and told him to go on...that I would take care of his affairs (including my mom) here on earth.

Each time I spoke to him he let go a little more.

I loved every moment of it. I think Dad did too.

I have missed him much...but I have never grieved for him I have never regretted his death). I would have changed places with him in a second.

We who love the Lord will serve Him for eternity. What a happy state!

We who are saved are already in heaven...and it will only get more profound as time goes by.

There comes a point when we must acknowledge that time is near.

I know I fought every minute of every day for my friend before she finally passed but, the night I finally accepted her time was near she kissed me in this soft way she never kissed me and she left within the hour.

We don’t want it to happen but, she was 101 years and 5 months. She had a couple bouts with respiratory and at their age each round becomes more difficult until pneumonia drowns them or their little hearts give up from the battle.

I fear our beloved Reverend is near that point and we should wish him well in his next life and pray for his family.

If only he could have lived up to the example of Nelson Mandela he might have some moral authority, that is what National Review would probably say if they bothered to run an editorial on their site.

ugh

What else can they say? It was Mandela who was “the most revered” and “unmatched moral authority” according to National Review. How could they turn around and say someone else is those things now?

Obama has already got someone to type up a terse, ambiguous, cryptic statement about Rev. Graham which ends saying, “Therefore, due to prior commitments, no one from this administration will be attending the memorial or the funeral. We appreciate your gracious understanding!

If I was a member of the Graham family, I wouldn’t want Satan’s representative in the White House at Rev. Graham’s funeral.
